It makes me mad, the people who are against Barbie because they say it's praising the image of perfect bodies, how you have to fall in love, or whatever. But I NEVER got that from Barbie. I always saw Barbie movies as something that taught my childhood self to be kind, brave, strong, intelligent, curious, and to appreciate life around me. Barbie was better than Disney, in my opinion.
yeah, i always loved barbie. even tho i'm a male, i still love barbie, and got often picked in pre-school and 1st grade because i liked "girly stuff". but i didn't care. barbie showed me that u have be kind, brave and strong and be grateful of course. now as a 16 year old, i miss my childhood of just not caring about nothing else than just these barbie movies.
people always say barbie movies are all promoting bad ideals of perfection, people laugh at them and ridicule the movies or songs. I never ever felt that way. I'm now 17, but from all her movies, I learned unconsciously how to be polite, dignified, kind and to believe in yourself, in your potential, and most of all, to be happy for others. I'm not kidding though it may sound untrue-- I thank barbie movies for teaching me to be how I am today. I don't subscribe to the drama, I always try to look for the good in situations that bring me down, and I am honestly rarely jealous or hating of others, and even though many other girls have hated and tried to bully me or have been venomous out of jealousy toward me, I didn't even realise that I reacted in a calm and forgiving manner in the face of their negativity. So a huge thankyou to these magical movies whose morals and lessons have made me into someone whom I'd want my children to be someday. To be honest I think the Barbie movies have better girl power storylines than Disney. Yes sometimes the barbie character needs rescuing but for the most part, the main character grows as a person, solves problems herself in smart and innovative ways, and the romance usually becomes a secondary thing. In some of the films, there isn't even a man at the end. The newer ones haven't been as good but I know if I ever have kids they are going to watch these films.
barbie movies are more about saving the day with feminine way than getting a man. A lot of the male characters in Barbie movies are supportive of the female characters rather than stealing the limelight like aladdin and sleeping beauty and ending with a marriage. Even the ones that do end in marriage, Barbie is still in charge like in princess and the pauper, Annalise becomes next queen that started a crystal mining industry, King Dominic actually cares enough to let Erika sing around the world before accepting his proposal. Diamond Castle is just 2 gals saving the day. Fairytopia also. Mariposa is a favourite cos of how smart she is. Basically, in each and every movie, Barbie did more than most classic disney princesses waaaay before Disney decided to be fake woke to rake in cash. Also the scene where racquel and barbie clear their misunderstandings. Just perfect message for children and teens
Yes agree with you! Barbie sends a message that you don't need to do things the way men does to be accepted. She feels more comfortable in her femininity, and uses it to be successful in her own way :) I never understood why some ppl look down on 'feminine girls' and think they are 'weak'.
@@PS-fk5zv not just for girls, I believe we should let boys watch Barbie or create Barbie equivalent shows for boys. Like maybe Steven Universe. That would raise our boys to know that it is okay to be emotionally vulnerable and not have to act stoic and rigid and shoulder all the burden to be seen as manly. Movies like barbie also educate them to seek support and other soft feminine ways of dealing with obstacles instead of shaming and bullying boys for crying or being quiet and soft spoken as weak. That would improve the mental health for the next generation of men and decrease the extremely high rate of suicide in men.

Nothing against the newer Barbie movies or their music but older Barbie movies just hit different. The stories, the animation, the music, THE FRICKIN MUSIC. I might be biased because I grew up with these movies but I just think this was Barbie's golden era.

Barbie songs have so much meaning. they're so beautiful, and we all sang along to them when we were young without understanding the depth of the lyrics but now we're all back here as teenagers, and now finally we understand and we're singing all these old songs again with so much renewed appreciation. honestly I think these Barbie movies were all so impactful in creating strong female role models. to the people who dislike Barbie because of the unrealistic beauty standards set by Barbie dolls, I always tell them to watch the old Barbie movies. Going to be 18 in the next few months. Getting my first job in a few days. Successfully made it through highs school and pursuing a Diploma in University, and I am happily admitting I would never have made it this far if it wasn't for the Barbie fandom as well as the movies. I know every word to every song, and I am not ashamed at all

As someone who never looked or will ever look like Barbie I never really felt like I had to change my image to have the Malibu Barbie dream life, she inspired me to be who I want to be and always be strong, being a pink-loving princess with a fit body doesn't mean you can't be a strong ass woman, I always thought of myself as Barbie in my own way. I'm sad that maybe insecurities were embedded into kids that don't look like Barbie by people they know/knew. We can all be Barbie, go get that bag, that bread and that dream life by working in a field you like and be the bigger person that always/sometimes wears pink.

barbie taught me so much growing up, the first few barbie movies are about dance and as young dancer at the time,i wanted to be like her. she taught me to follow my dreams, be strong, be brave, be kind and don't give up and being yourself and having a great family and friends is the key. barbie never focused on the true love as much as Disney has. the older movies yes barbie fell in the love in the end but finding love wasn't the focus. it was about chasing your dreams and solving the problems that you face with friends by your side and in a lot of movies barbie didn't marry and fall in love which is a great message to show. i miss the old movies and wish that young girls today could find and watch them because even as a 20 year old i carry the messages barbie taught me when i was 5
when you are used to the dutch versions of the songs this sounds like a whole new thing, it is such an experience to hear them in another language its like experiencing it all again. I really recommend it!

I actually love the dialogues within songs. I transform into a full on musical actress and my room is the stage whenever I play these, especially the ones from the Princess and the Pauper.

It makes me mad, the people who are against Barbie because they say it's praising the image of perfect bodies, how you have to fall in love, or whatever. But I NEVER got that from Barbie. I always saw Barbie movies as something that taught my childhood self to be kind, brave, strong, intelligent, curious, and to appreciate life around me. Barbie was better than Disney, in my opinion.

people always say barbie movies are all promoting bad ideals of perfection, people laugh at them and ridicule the movies or songs. I never ever felt that way. I'm now 17, but from all her movies, I learned unconsciously how to be polite, dignified, kind and to believe in yourself, in your potential, and most of all, to be happy for others. I'm not kidding though it may sound untrue-- I thank barbie movies for teaching me to be how I am today. I don't subscribe to the drama, I always try to look for the good in situations that bring me down, and I am honestly rarely jealous or hating of others, and even though many other girls have hated and tried to bully me or have been venomous out of jealousy toward me, I didn't even realise that I reacted in a calm and forgiving manner in the face of their negativity. So a huge thankyou to these magical movies whose morals and lessons have made me into someone whom I'd want my children to be someday. I'm NOT perfect, but I know I can improve, and be the best version of myself. Sending love to you all, have an amazing day!!
To be honest I think the Barbie movies have better girl power storylines than Disney. Yes sometimes the barbie character needs rescuing but for the most part, the main character grows as a person, solves problems herself in smart and innovative ways, and the romance usually becomes a secondary thing. In some of the films, there isn't even a man at the end. The newer ones haven't been as good but I know if I ever have kids they are going to watch these films.

barbie movies are more about saving the day with feminine way than getting a man. A lot of the male characters in Barbie movies are supportive of the female characters rather than stealing the limelight like aladdin and sleeping beauty and ending with a marriage. Even the ones that do end in marriage, Barbie is still in charge like in princess and the pauper, Annalise becomes next queen that started a crystal mining industry, King Dominic actually cares enough to let Erika sing around the world before accepting his proposal. Diamond Castle is just 2 gals saving the day. Fairytopia also. Mariposa is a favourite cos of how smart she is. Basically, in each and every movie, Barbie did more than most classic disney princesses waaaay before Disney decided to be fake woke to rake in cash. Also the scene where racquel and barbie clear their misunderstandings. Just perfect message for children and teens
Yes agree with you! Barbie sends a message that you don't need to do things the way men does to be accepted. She feels more comfortable in her femininity, and uses it to be successful in her own way :) I never understood why some ppl look down on 'feminine girls' and think they are 'weak'.

That would raise our boys to know that it is okay to be emotionally vulnerable and not have to act stoic and rigid and shoulder all the burden to be seen as manly. Movies like barbie also educate them to seek support and other soft feminine ways of dealing with obstacles instead of shaming and bullying boys for crying or being quiet and soft spoken as weak. That would improve the mental health for the next generation of men and decrease the extremely high rate of suicide in men.

Barbie songs have so much meaning. they're so beautiful, and we all sang along to them when we were young without understanding the depth of the lyrics but now we're all back here as teenagers, and now finally we understand and we're singing all these old songs again with so much renewed appreciation. honestly I think these Barbie movies were all so impactful in creating strong female role models. to the people who dislike Barbie because of the unrealistic beauty standards set by Barbie dolls, I always tell them to watch the old Barbie movies. Going to be 18 in the next few months. Getting my first job in a few days. Successfully made it through highs school and pursuing a Diploma in University, and I am happily admitting I would never have made it this far if it wasn't for the Barbie fandom as well as the movies. I know every word to every song, and I am not ashamed at all

I'm from Argentina so they were in Spanish, obviously, but it's surprisingly amazing how both versions are quite similar! Sometimes the lyrics just don't fit the music, but in this case, it's perfect! Like the movies
I myself grew up with the swedish versions and I relate. It's really amazing they made them in so many different languages and the songs still sound so good in all the versions (that I've heard atleast) ^-^

As someone who never looked or will ever look like Barbie I never really felt like I had to change my image to have the Malibu Barbie dream life, she inspired me to be who I want to be and always be strong, being a pink-loving princess with a fit body doesn't mean you can't be a strong ass woman, I always thought of myself as Barbie in my own way. I'm sad that maybe insecurities were embedded into kids that don't look like Barbie by people they know/knew.
We can all be Barbie, go get that bag, that bread and that dream life by working in a field you like and be the bigger person that always/sometimes wears pink.

barbie taught me so much growing up, the first few barbie movies are about dance and as young dancer at the time,i wanted to be like her. she taught me to follow my dreams, be strong, be brave, be kind and don't give up and being yourself and having a great family and friends is the key. barbie never focused on the true love as much as Disney has. the older movies yes barbie fell in the love in the end but finding love wasn't the focus. it was about chasing your dreams and solving the problems that you face with friends by your side and in a lot of movies barbie didn't marry and fall in love which is a great message to show. i miss the old movies and wish that young girls today could find and watch them because even as a 20 year old i carry the messages barbie taught me when i was 5
when you are used to the dutch versions of the songs this sounds like a whole new thing, it is such an experience to hear them in another language its like experiencing it all again. I really recommend it!

I actually love the dialogues within songs. I transform into a full on musical actress and my room is the stage whenever I play these, especially the ones from the Princess and the Pauper.

I'm 20 now, and I just love listening to Barbie songs while working on my school-works so thanks for this. I I also watch the movies if I can from time to time. It just brings the nostalgia, and I really love how at a young age I was taught about female empowerment and how I should as a girl be kind, brave, strong, curious and so on and so forth.
As i getting older as i being attached in barbie. Movies taught lot of lessons and every songs left space in my heart, most of the time it served as my comfort zone when life turn upside down. Corny to think but the message really hit deep and it made me realize how hard life may seem, nothing can stop a determined and eager person to aim its goal. Nothing is impossible as well as everything always happens for a reason.
