Yes, the song is in French. This is not the best version of Dimash singing this song. If you listen to any of the other performances, you an really appreciate the emotion Dimash pours into this song. Most of his videos do have cc for English translations. It is hard to say what you should listen to next since everything he sings is amazing. My favorites are "Your Love", Sinful Passion, Adagio, All By Myself ( as performed on "Singer 2017) Ikanaide on the Japanese Jazz Festival 2021. He sings in abo16 languages, therefore the English translations. Also, Love Is Like A Dream and Ave Maria. Thank you for the video and I look forward to watching more Dimash videos with you. You have only heard the tiniest tip of the iceberg.
This show disrespected Dimash when he refused to participate against children in the final and he dropped out. They told him he wouldn’t be competing with children when he signed up for the show, and that was a condition of him taking part, in the show. Competing against children is a definite no, no in his culture. You would do well never to react to Dimash singing on this show again, (they cut his performances off anyway and they never show the full performances) We (his fans) hate how he was treated! Thankfully this show only ever had one season, it was a total flop and I think that’s because of the way they treated Dimash (such a humble human being) so badly!
If there's one video you shouldn't use as an introduction to Dimash... it's this one. Without getting complicated, just try classics like “Stranger” instead. That's a good introduction.
There is probably one absolute rule when it comes to Dimash reactions: NEVER react to anything from this program. 😂 "S.O.S." any other time he performs it is a great introduction.
Dimash`s fans (The Dears) have no fun with this show. There`s is a story. But Dimash is always amazing. If you're reacting to singers, you should have a little idea - just a little bit - of music and voice. Because if you had that, you would have woken up. He is currently one of the greatest singer.

Why infer a negative about someone to someone you want to like her ? Leave it alone, it's in bad taste to do it. It has nothing to do with his glorious voice in the video or him and then insult the reactor. Telling him If "you had woken up" is insulting. Everyone I showed this to agrees. Thank you for checking out Dimash. Dimash is the best singer/vocalist on the planet. This is just a tiny sample of what he does. He has a vast catalog. This is French. Dimash is from Kazakhstan. He sings in 14+ languages, multiple genres, and he has 7+ octaves. This show 'World Best' cut his performances, and this is cut, they lied to him and said that he wouldn't compete against children which was untrue. Dimash left the show because of these things. This is not where you should go to hear him. He has a channel and multiple performances easily acceptable on TH-cam.
It is too bad there is no way to remove really bad videos from the internet.☹️☹️
The video is badly chopped up and I believe the sections where the hosts made total asses of themselves have been removed.
Most Dimash fans will not watch this video because Dimash was treated with such disrespect here. Out of 100's of performances, this is the only "bad" video.🙄
Anyway I would suggest that you check out his new music video "When I've Got You" in english then check out another performance of SOS from his channel to bring in the fanbase. (Digital Show 2021 is popular)

This show cut the actually song for the TV show. He sings in many languages and different genres, plays multiple instruments, acts, composes etc. He is in my opinion the best vocalist in the world at this time. He reaches fans from all over the world and each concert he does is evidence of it. The last concert he performed in Budapest drew people from 77 different countries. It is that way in each concert. Try one of is more modern songs, like his MV When I've Got You, and Smoke.

You should have turned on the captions. The song is about being uncomfortable in your own skin, and maybe things are more beautiful from up above and calling out for help. Dimash is the most amazing singer ever...
Please do not use anything Dimash did at Worlds Best. The show was rude to him because he decided to quit when they went against their word and had him compete against children.
Plus....its not his best performance os this song. However...he was slated to win and turned down 1 million prize on principle.

From the over 100 performances of this song there are on the internet, this must be the worst. Because the show made the music too loud (we can barely hear Dimash) and edited out half of the song. 😵💫

But even this version was spectacular. This wasn’t just a good performance! What he does - nobody else is able to do. He really is the best singer on the planet. Also this is just a part of his range, some of the techniques he does and one of many genres he sings in.

Dimash was invited to go on this show but when he was told he would be competing with children he pulled out. He said he wouldn't compete with kids it would be unfair. So this show bad mouthed him for dropping out. Also faith hill in her interpretation was really cruel. The show is about how singers can hit notes how clear they are and she said it would have been better without all the dramatic high note. But that's probably because she can't hit them. Thank God dimash didn't go with them for he would be under very restrictions to what he could sing. Dimash isn't signed with anyone giving him freedom to perform what he wants and how. To me as a lover of music I'd listen to dimash over lot of the well known super Stars so called. Most as stuck up full of themselves where as dimash is polite and doesn't sing for money or success he sings to make people love music as much as he does. He is a very humble polite and caring person who loves everything and everyone. He isn't bias by sex or race or religion or color. He takes time for each and everyone of his fans or as he calls them Dears.

I’m sorry you stumbled on this particular video. This program, “World’s Best”, totally butchered the performance. Cut up parts on it, do it starts either a sentence and finishes with another. Dimash performed SIS d’un terrien en détresse countless times. My favorites are the one at Singer 2017, the one at Slavianski Bazaar in 2018, and the Digital Show in 2021. It is indeed in French. In those performances you can turn on the subtitles to see the lyrics.

“SOS d'un terrien en détresse” tells of an earthly being that is in distress and asking for help because he never felt well in his own skin, he better wants to be a bird to see the world in case it could be more beautiful when seen from above. Luc Plamondon wrote the lyrics of SOS about a very distraught young man who just lost his lover causing him extreme questioning of his own existence. Finally being by her lifeless body, he is able to let her go “in peace“ with the words ‘sleep, my child, sleep’. It is a part of an french Rock-Pop opera released in 1979: Starmania. One of the 5 most difficult songs in French language. It was recorded by Daniel Balavoine in 1979 or so and Grégory Lemarchal won of the French reality singing competition Star Academy 2004 with this song.
