Being taken to see Madam Butterfly at the Empire Theatre in Liverpool, the UK, in 1961 (or so) when I was about 13 years old, shaped my sense of life; the world, in the most beautiful way, for ever - and that is all still with me. This brings back so much of it all ... and I always loved all of the opera records I gathered after that experience. My teen years were spent listening to opera and the likes of Renata Tebaldi and Giuseppe di Stefano; Maria Callas, Victoria de los Angeles and many more with their most astoundingly beautiful art.
