I could not agree more, the guides are marvellous and without them the understanding just is not there. It is easy to see how it affected you both. Lindsay does not want to go but I think she should. Brilliantly done with this video. Thank you.

You covered this in a way I would have absolutely expected from you. With fantastic respect whilst keeping the memory of the atrocities alive with education. Only by keeping the memory alive can we prevent this happening in future. Thank you for showing it how you did.

Thanks very much , you’re too kind. We’re really glad you found it a respectful watch, we thought long and hard whether to video it all but in the end thought there was value in telling the story of our visit . H and M

Wevisited here a few years ago and still remember like it was yesterday, It was very moving and so very sad. We found it was like Bergen Belsen where there were no birds! Thank you for the commentary and for sharing

Thank you both for this. We've visited the site twice, the second time to take our (young adult) son. Your video was beautifully informative and respectful. Thanks for the sensitive the way you presented it

Martin, I have attend both the camps twice and it’s hard to comprehend or put in words, it’s very overwhelming. I remember our guide asked us what is missing ? It was the sound of wind and wild life. There was none. You gave a very sensitive coverage . Thanks Malc. 😢

Great video both. Very sensitively covered. As you say it's something we feel we should do. Although I'm pretty sensitive so I think I'd cry.
Poland is definitely somewhere we need to visit in our motorhome 💜xx

Thanks guys, Poland is a great place to visit and we have only scratched the surface , not as many Stellplatz/Aires as in other places , but there are plenty of sites. Thanks once again for watching , see you soon H and M

Nicely done, both - a sensitive and balanced presentation. I'm sure it's difficult to put across the true horror of what happened in those camps, in a video, but you managed very well. As I said when you were at Orador sur Glan, you've highlighted man's inhumanity to man in an educational but interesting way. Incidentally, we found Camping Jungfrau in Switzerland to be a stunning location but boy, was Lauterbrunnen heaving with visitors!

Thanks Al , glad you enjoyed the film thanks for watching. Interesting that Lauterbrunnen was so busy, I know from some Swiss people we talk to that their school holidays are much earlier than any one else's . maybe that's why. It is a stunning location hope you managed to see and do all you wanted. Best wishes Helen and Martin

I think I may be able to visit one day after watching that and I think it’s a must. We went to the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington and I just remember all of those shoes and bags piled up. Such simple everyday belongings parted from their owners in unimaginable circumstances. Well done and hope you were ok. X

    • @helenandmartinsTreks

Hi Louise , it's a dilemma isn't it , not something you would choose to witness but still wanting to participate in honouring those that suffered. The Guides do a great job in the way they explain the events. We came away feeling like we had done the right thing, especially as we have a platform to tell the story. Thanks very much for watching and commenting, we appreciate it very much. Helen and Martin

So glad the right decision was made. It is a dilemma; on the same trip we had the chance to visit the site of the twin towers, not long after. We all decided to go for those reasons; to think about the people who died and honour them. It also somehow makes it seem real as you just can’t believe it. There were thousands of notes of remembrance & missing persons posters. Take care x
