I bought this exact model in about 1988. It was about £65 brand new, a massive amount of money then. I was a little disappointed with the quality, namely the back wheels on the tender never turned and slid across the track. One of the front wheels on the 4-wheel bogey was wobbly. Also the white tender stripes and the silver/white paint of the hinges on the front boiler door was applied so it missed where it was actually supposed to be. It was a good runner though for N Gauge at the time.
Not an LNER guy but you’d have to have a cold heart indeed not to love the Scotsman, great review And I think you got a bargain, you just need a few more teak coaches!

I just discovered your channel recently, and I must say I love these reviews and have binged all of them! Very well presented, you've earned a sub!
Great review short and sweet. I may get some locos from Alan as well.
I have a question I've just bought a sec mogul in grey brand new she runs great but she only pulls three carriages is this normal

Then I definitely have a cold heart as I seriously don't like flying Scotsman
A cold heart indeed! Do I detect a little ‘The GWR did it first’ grumpiness? 😀
@@grumbeast 😂😂😂😂
Model looks a bit faded but lovely all the same might benefit from a light weathering.
