This music actually made more curious about time travelling. Just like in the game seeing the same location change so much in 500 years makes me really interested in this aspect.
i might be wrong but maybe they're the same cemetery? I don't know exactly if the positioning is correct relative to the Pillars,or if it might have survived, but it would be awesome if I am right
All the songs used in LoK Defiance are remixed from the old used in the previous games, cause they are the same places like the Sarafan Stronghold or the Cemetery, idk if it's the same Cemetery that is from Soul Reaver.
This music brings tears into my eyes. Good old days. I just hope that EIDOS and Chrystal Dynamics makes one last LOK game. Thank you Bosman1745 for putting up theese videos. Maybe Eidos forgot Raziel and Kain but we LOK-fans didn't. They allways be in our hearts.
the problem is that the dark chronicles are over, everything was tied at the end, they tried to make soul reaver dark sun (was amazing and all) but the story was completely unrelated to the original series, was just a slice talking about another sentient vampire/wraith like raziel living though the inquisition era
while we would all love to see another entry to the series, maybe we don't need one. Defiance left us on one hell of a cliffhanger, but a powerful ending nonetheless. At least then the saga ended with dignity; an example of what pure writing genius and amazing voice acting in the video gaming community can create. but at the same time I would love to see a game with the raw ambition and creative skill of LOK appear in the AAA game industry, might remind us how we can put actual passion into video games and still have them be successful.
This theme is an enhanced version of a Soul Reaver 1 theme, like some more of the OST, but there are no enhanced version of SR2 themes, that's what he means
Menta technically the main menu theme is a remix of Ariel’s lament. Also the dark forge and sarafan keep themes are redone here as well, but alas: defiance hand no spectral plane music, just the ambience of frightened and miserable souls & the warped Echos of spectral winds. (Oh and Janos’s music is sometimes in cutscenes)
in the segments of Raziel...this the only game were the spectral kingdom dont have music...instead howls of regrets and people suffering....the music only plays in the material kingdom. in the original soul reaver.....spectral kingdom version songs are a desperated version of the song....for sound like in the deep ocean.
"These were Mobius' hunters, his insignia is unmistakable. This means I've been gone for centuries, I have lost 500 years, then I knew who haunted the pillars Ariel; The murdered balance guardian. Perhaps she could provide the answers I sought but first I have to find a way out of this Cemetery."
I don't think it is. If I remember correctly, in the Cemetary, you find the Tomb of the Serafan whereas it is nothing near the stronghold of Melkiah. But I wondered the same thing too and find it more interesting if the places were the same than not.
Well, the locations may not be necessarily connected because they share the same map theme, but rather the settings of the two locations were thematically similar enough in that they both contain cemeteries. Necropolis contains a cemetery, while The Cemetery is well, a big cemetery including the light and dark forges and Kain’s mausoleum. It fit the theme and they already had the music material, and LoK was still fresh in that time, so it just made sense. However, I do agree that since both locations are relatively close to the pillars, that they may indeed be related.
Well, that's just Soul Reaver scaling of Nosgoth, the Necropolis isn't meant to be that close to the pillars and it isn't anywhere close to the cemetery, the scales are a bit funky each game with Defiance and Blood Omen have the largest scales for each area, if we go by Blood Omen scaling then the cemetery is south of the pillars with just a town between the two. And the necropolis is way north by Vasserbunde because you can access the ruins of Nupraptor's retreat through the necropolis and you need to go through two cities before even reaching Vasserbunde.
The music of this game takes you to a strange world
Indeed...

The perfect tune to inspire feelings of birth, death, and rebirth.... The Wheel of Fate.
I can hear Raziel footsteps when running
i never realized until going back and playing them all in a row but this is a variation on the theme played in Malchiah's cemetery in SR1.
i might be wrong but maybe they're the same cemetery? I don't know exactly if the positioning is correct relative to the Pillars,or if it might have survived, but it would be awesome if I am right
I noticed that too but I played all 4 games pretty close together.
@@agaleca Melchiah's territory is where Nupraptor's lair used to be, kinda far.

Almost twenty years later, it's still an awesome game!
Nostalgia...
This theme is always calming to me for some reason, despite the tone of the song itself.
Very nostalgic and primeval, peaceful

They really do need to make a new game... maybe one where the now purified kain tracks down the new pillar guardians to restore nosgoth.

I swear this transports me to another world just like Raziel and Kain do throughout the series
If I'm not mistaken, this theme in Soul Reaver 1 is called Necropolis, I never really twigged this before. Great hearing them remade in Defiance.
“Against all odds, I managed to find myself within Kain’s own mausoleum... a most unlikely coincidence.”
Soul Reaver for PS5? Yes PLEASE!!!

Of all remixed music from the previous games, this one is my favourite; it is so peaceful.
I've been looking for this track for a while now. Thanks for uploading this. I immediately bought the series on GoG

A complete rip-off Necropolis soundtrack in Soul Reaver 1
I'm guessing it was intentional as a throwback to that soundtrack.
yes it was and somewhere it was stated as well
its not a 'rip off', its a remix of the Necropolis theme
Wouldn't really call it a "rip-off"...
If you played blood omen 1, this remix plays on the cementery before you quit the kain's mausoleum.
