- Here's the reason why I had to finish my Nitro Circus South Africa tour early.
Tried to do a Cashroll Tailwhip to Barspin in the Johannesburg show. Unfortunately crashed and separated my AC joint and couldn't ride anymore. In this video I tell you the story of what happened and how I felt.

In February this year I was really into flipping and trampolining. I wasn’t very good but I really wanted to progress. I started getting really into it and decided to get lessons at flipout the trampoline park. On my first lesson I was just doing random flips and finished the lesson without a problem. I was really close to landing a backflip flat but there was one trick I wanted to land. The Double Frontflip. My mum had just arrived to pick me up and I was doing them into the foam pit. I decided to start chucking them on the trampoline. I was doing one and then overotating onto my hand. My mum was telling me that we needed to go and I said ‘one more try’. And then it happened. I accidentally jumped really high and did one front flip overotated straight onto my left arm and I snapped both of the bones in my arm (the radius and ulna). I was out of any physical excersise for about 4 months and it was SOOOO boring. I am starting to ease back into trampoline tricks but I’m still not that good. I hope you recover really quickly and hopefully get some sick new world firsts!

Zac when I was learning how to snowboard I told my dad one last run. Right after I got off the lift I fell and broke my wrist. After that I hat to walk half of a mile home

I was doing rope swinging tricks and mum said to come inside I then snapped my wrist and got surgery on that last go, I have broken 5 bones. Lol
Good on you for sharing a side of you that most people would likely never see. It takes courage to share footage of yourself crying and so upset with the world, but it shows your passion and love for what you do and is why we all love and follow you!

You're the real deal. Huge respect for showing your feelings and being an example for young kids by committing and living up to your passion. It would have been easy to edit it out, but you didn't and that takes some guts in our modern internet society that judges people too easily. Lots of success with the recovery!
I feel for you! I separated my AC joint a few years ago learning freerunning wall flip full twists (got em every time now) and it really is an unsettling injury. I heard it snap and it felt like my arm was hanging strangely. I still have some pain and discomfort but its pretty much all better now. Hopefully yours is too!
Its totally understandable how upset you were. But look at this way; you get to do something that you love so much that it makes you feel that bad to miss out on even one day of it. And as much as I'm sure everyone wanted to see you ride that day, I'm sure they would rather see you do what's best for your body.

I know the feeling man. I seperated and dislocated my shoulder at the same time twice. Had to get Arthroscopic surgery on it due to tearing the cartilage in the joint. I wish you all the best of luck in your recovery man!

That clip right before you went to the hospital really got to me because a very similar thing happened to me this year. I race BMX and every year since 2010 I have been to the world championships. This year however, when the championships were only 30 minutes from where I go to school, I break my thumb two weeks before the qualifying race. I didn't think that I was even hurt but went to get x-rays because my thumb instantly swelled up when I took my glove off. I was devastated when they said it was broken and when they were putting the splint on I just started crying my eyes out since I was riding the best I ever had to that point. Fast forward a few months when the race happened I just couldn't bring myself to even go watch my friends race because of how much everything effected me. Thankfully I'm all healed up and riding again and came back stronger than ever. Heal up dude and kill it like you always do!

Feel for ya man. Had a similar experience/injury with snow boarding and was told I was out for the season. Was so gutted goes but ended up being able to eventually which I was fuckin stoked about. Just goes to show that this is a reason passion for you bro.

Man it’s good to see you are feeling better but I wish I could have done what you have done over what I did. I dislocated my hip racing BMX and I haven’t ridden a bike for 6 months. I have had two serguries but it is still great to see you better. I can remember watching a couple of your videos whilst I was in hospital after my second sergury.👍🏻❤️❤️

You are very lucky. I had an injury on a bike like that a year and a half ago and the doctor in Ohio told me it would be fine they didn't ex-ray or anything. I came home and it still hurt but I kept working out trying to get ready for my snowboarding season so I decided to go back to the doctor and they told me it was a 6th degree ac separation and that I needed surgery right away. Now I have someones hamstring in my shoulder. I bounced back a year later and almost feel 100 percent. So you'll be back at it in no time. Keep throwing down those world firsts and remember mind over matter.
