The way the lighting is executed and the way Mark Gatiss acts in this scene while being restrained... is TRULY amazing. Can't think of a better actor for this. The chorus strikes a certain feeling in the audience too. I'm not familiar with the person playing what seems like the advisor but he does a very good job of telling George off.
It's Dr. Willis if I remember correctly (the chief doctor attempting to cure the mental illness). What an unbelievable situation this must have been in real life.
As great as the original was, it's very interesting to see a George III who looks a little younger (he was only 50 years old in 1788, his first battle with insanity). It's a bit more historically accurate.
This has to be one of the most iconic Act 1 endings ever!
Adrian Scarborough and Mark Gatiss play their parts to perfection!

Ew why they dress like that with high socks
@@dequanrick2209That was typical formal ‘upper class’ dress of the era - ‘hose’. They have only started to be seen as feminine more recently.
If he writes any more Sherlock episodes he will be restrained!

‘I am the King of England!’
‘No sir. You are the patient!’
Gives me goosebumps every time
One of the most powerful line exchanges in any play or film.
The stuff of nightmares.
There's something in my eye... 😢
Adrian was in the original production!
Yeah, the original film from 1994. It was his first actually, at least according to Wikipedia.
