😍 yay! I have one of these for my mum, I recently upgraded it too! Its still a very reliable good beater that uses standard consumer parts, i luv it! 🐢😍

@@MrSamadolfo I've got the same processor in my Dell Precision T4300. It works pretty well. Can somebody tell me which 8Gb ram is this computer compatible with?
@@krisztiankrausz7606 🙂 sure, it has four ram slots, each ram stick needs to be 2GB ddr2 667mhz or 800mhz, popular brands shud work like hynix & samsung & gskill & kingston. One thing unique about this board is that it can boot with either regular ram or server ram that says ECC, samsung makes good ECC ram ✌️😏
Actually the center hard drive bay could be used for the SSD . You will need another blue hard drive bracket and SSD holder that fits in the hard drive bracket. The power cord for it is next to the video card power connector. The other blue SATA cable then connects to it. Just drop the whole thing into the other metal drive bay.
Is it possible to change the motherboard? I'm planning to upgrade my Precision T3400, and still wondering if it's possible to avoid the limitations of DDR2 and Core 2 Duo CPUs.
Ion Particles You are not limited to Core 2 Duos. Search up the t3500 motherboard on eBay. I am also looking to upgrade the Motherboard. I am going to try to put that motherboard into the case.
Xsavi Xander Ah I see. I know the t3500 motherboard should be similar to the t3400's, as it's a full size BTX. Seems like a good idea, considering standard BTX boards are a rare find. From there, a decent CPU socket and RAM capabilities have the potential to produce a lightweight gaming rig or reliable daily driver.
Ion Particles What I have found out is that the T3500 board will not fit into the T3400 case. I am going to buy a t3500 and see what motherboards fit in there.
Xsavi Xander Huh. That's the problem with proprietary cases. Though, similar to you, I've wondered if any another motherboard form factors would at least fit in the t3400 or t3500 (modification if necessary). I'm glad you found the answer, it will be helpful to other people who are indecisive with pre-built PC'S
Ion Particles I am searching and going to buy boards and see. :) I just love these Prebuilt PC's and I love seeing just how much they can take! You would be surprised! I had a GX620 that was getting obsolete, so I put a Optiplex 380 and 360 board (one at a time, of course) in there and it worked perfectly! I needed to buy the front panel cable for the Optiplex 360/380 board as the pinout is completely different. :) Do you have the T3400? I would recommend searching up on eBay "Intel Xeon X3370" or "Intel Xeon X3360". Those are very good Xeon CPU's that will put a few more years into your T3400. If you know how to do the 771 to 775 conversion, I would recommend getting the Intel Xeon X3363. Since the chipset on the Precision T3400 is the X38 chipset, it does not support the X5xxx series of the Xeons (I am going to verify this). Use this as a reference: www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000007669/server-products.html The G31 and G41 series will work with the X33xx and 5xxx series of Xeons as long as they are LGA 771 or 775. :) I am happy to help out! Let me know if you need anything else!
You can do the LGA 771 to 775 Mod and use the X3363 Xeon as an alternative. This is the CPU I run on my T3400 and it works great. Just make sure to update to the latest BIOS before you Mod the Socket and add the Xeon. You will also need the LGA 771 to 775 Tape as well; not the same as BSEL Tape Mod where you use electrical tape. Google LGA 771 to 775 Mod and you will find all you need to know for adding Xeon's to Socket 775 MB's. The socket orientation and 2 pins are the only difference between the two sockets. Also the plastic pins you need to remove are very easy to remove but also very easy to slip off and damage the MB Pins so be very careful. I used too much force and clipped the plastic too hard and too fast and bent a few pins but was able to repair them. Granted your question did say without changing anything else so this is just an alternative that is easily done if you take your time and watch many video's on it first.
Xsavi Xander 🙂 sure xeon is good choice too but the Q9650 has an 'Instruction Set' that the other cpus might not have, for example not just any old cpu will run Far Cry 5, there might be a few other games too 🤔 But for older games we should b fine with any cpu hopefully 😸

What do I do if my computer doesn’t have an extra Sata cable to plug in my new ssd. Where would I connect it?
If i couldn't have a Intel Quad and remaining with the Intel Duo E6550, would a Geforce GT710 be supportable?
