The Bell 429 is a dual-engine light utility aircraft made by Bell Helicopter - Textron Inc. The 429 made its initial flight in 2007, and was certified in the year 2009, and launched the following year. It was made to be utilized largely for emergency medical service operations, as the past 427’s cabin was small to accommodate a patient. The Bell 429 was made to be a bigger version of the previous Bell 427.
The Bell 429 is capable of single-pilot IFR and Runway Category A operations.

@@heywoodjablowme8120 You could be right but some would do it all over again when you love something so much, like anything I guess. My Dad was on the set the day that happened to Vic.
The Bell 429’s skids are very ugly. If Bell had simply put classic 407/427 type skids on the 429, it would look great. But no, the Bell design team tried to be clever and copy the curvy, wraparound skids found on Eurocopter’s EC120/EC130 aircraft. Eurocopter objected and Bell decided to make an unattractive adjustment to this design, that was awful to start with.
A classic case of ‘style over substance.’
I think they tried to make them as small and light as possible, I really love the total overall look of the Bell 429. Thank you for watching 👍😎
The 429’s have optional retractable landing gears so that fixes that issue pretty quickly and they even boost the speed up a bit also😎
