    Did you have any problems with the pumps fuel tank gasket? I replaced mine last year and it’s leaking.
    Have you any advice for me, as I’m going to replace it again?

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I did not thankfully, did you use a brand new gasket? Honestly just look up the bolt pattern they recommend, I just kept at it to make sure it was seating level and tightened it very slowly. Not sure is there any liquid gasket that is compatible with fuel, but might also be worth checking.
      Are you using E5 or E10 fuel? I was always using E5, might make a slight difference.

    • @MrFlames1975
      @MrFlames1975 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheGorillaBiker thanks for the reply 👌I did use the correct sequence in doing the bolts up and used a new gasket.
      I think the only thing I did wrong was I may of over tightened the bolts as at the time I didn’t have a torque wrench.
      Only use super unleaded fuel.

    Heyy man , im doing the same work now , and i having one issue , maybe you know how to adjust butterflies correctly , couse now 3 of them are a little bit open one is closed , i hope you can help me uot , thanks!

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They just need to be balanced! I'd recommend a service manual and it'd explain it, otherwise get 4 shims of equal size and adjust the butterflies to catch them all the same, or build a diy vacuum syncing tool, or you could buy one :) Either way that's all it is when they're thrown out of alignment.

    • @EdwinFast
      @EdwinFast 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also one question , im also cleaning and rebuilding gas tank , i got same set from quantum company , but you have mentioned that you gonna check the bolt pattern or ordinaryness to screw back those bolt to tank , maybe you can tell me or show how its done ?

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EdwinFast I just tightened them normally in a cross pattern in the end, there is a recommended pattern in the service manual if you really want one. But you'll know by looking at it is it fully seated the whole way around too.

    • @EdwinFast
      @EdwinFast 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Okay i will try this way , just thought you have the scheme how its done from manual , couse in 2021 there is no free manuals left and spending 30bucks for book i believe its fair price , but not for budget builds , thanks anyway

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No I have a Haynes manual and it's not covered in it. You can still download a free gsxr pdf of the service manual on the forums. Literally just tighten them in a cross pattern and you'll be fine :)

    I've right now (today) taken my tank off my Srad 750 (exactly the same as your colour 😊) to check the fuel pump/filter as the bike was turning over but not starting. Pump no sound/not priming.
    Like there's no fuel, but there is.
    Anyway the filter was totally shot at & the whole pump/everything covered in crap & rust.
    I've cleaned it all the best possible & free'd the pump motor using GT85. I will connect the wire to it tomorrow & i'm hoping i can hear it prime.
    I never knew rebuilt kits were available. If ive no joy, it looks like i will need a kit or replacement pump/filter altogether.

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  10 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Honestly while you have it all apart I'd recommend just changing it out, they're a weak point unfortunately and do fail especially if they've gotten gummed up :)

      @keepitreal1547 10 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@TheGorillaBiker
      I put it back together & connected live wire, switched the ignition on & a very slight buzzing sound.
      Whether it'll work in the tank or not, who knows, I'm not risking it.
      I've gone & ordered a new pump & strainer & will fit as soon as they arrive.
      The front calipers were binding on the discs, so they're now off & I'm cleaning/servicing...New pads etc.
      The front indicator stalk rubbers have perished & so making a repair on those...because they're expensive to replace.
      Do you still have yours?
      I'm looking forward to getting it all ready for the road.
      I've not seen one in this colour for a long while, I'm sure it'll be a talking point on my stops.

      Oh, the previous owner of all those years ago had fitted the 4 pot Srad 600 front calipers & it's them that I'm servicing. He said the feeling is better.
      He also gave me the original 6 pots...I'm undecided which to refit?

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  10 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yeah I'd just have been nervous it'd have let you down at the worst moment possible after stopping for some fuel or something :D
      I put new seals and pistons in to mine as well, made a big difference. I also have a brembo rcs 19 on there that is amazing.
      I do not, had to replace one due to a lowside at the track and replaced the other due to it perishing. Wemoto had OEM look alikes for not bad money a few years ago.
      Enjoy it! They're an amazing bike :)

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmmm, they're a fairly stinky bike anyway as are most 4 across carbs in my experience. Are you leaking fuel anywhere? Check you vents on your tanks aren't blocked and make sure you're not leaking fuel in to your oil thru a carb(open your oil cap and smell it, if it's stink you may have an issue) I had a needle stick a few times on me with that. Otherwise they are just fairly smelly after a spin, might need to vent the place better and smoke on then :)
      If it's starting and running fine it's probably unlikely you have a leak in to a cylinder but just check under the carbs etc too for any damp patches.
