I have sewn for well over 60 years and taught sewing for 40 years. So here is my suggestion for selling the patterns. Great project for the girls - sort by size, then sub sort by what they are (dresses, casual clothes) sell as lots of 3 - 5. Also sort out any craft items (toys, plush, etc). You can sell those in larger lots but I would say keep to max 5. If you have enough to pull out christmas crafts or halloween crafts that is perfect. Also good for lots are any sort of home decor patterns - pillows, kitchen items, curtains, etc. Don't take the patterns out of the envelope but peak in at them. If it appears to have never been pulled out (still tightly folded up) state that in listing. Look at the price on them - newer patterns will list as $12.95 and up, but hardly anyone pays that. They will only buy when on sale or with a coupon - 30% or 40% off. Since there is hardly any weight and you can poly bag them, I would sell with free shipping and figure each is around $4 depending on new or not. So maybe a lot of 5 new would be $20. Not seeing them, that is a hard guess. Please tell us when you list them.
You have absolutely grown as a reseller since I started watching you buy plushies and movies. I would yell at the screen, quit selling them for 5.00. Bundle them. I never wrote that to you, it's literally your business. I was so happy as I saw your new goal of 15.00 per item. I think you are amazing! Instead of yelling at the screen I enjoy how excited you get with the big sales like today.
My sales haven't stopped and have been killing it since I started listing 20 items every single day...clothes and shoes, items with a good sell through rate, best my store has been in years.
My friend... Last week was so bad in sales. I went down to 1 to 2 items a day. Then all of a sudden Sunday Ebay sales start rolling in. I woke up to 4 sales over night too. So 14 sales Sunday and over night. Keep pushing. Thanks for the content! You ROCK
Those Longaburger baskets will sell best in October. It's breast cancer awareness month and all the ones with the pink ribbon on them are cancer awareness ribbons. Do a sale on those in late September early October and they should sell good
Be very, very careful about calling something Murano. Many listers call it Murano and it's actually not. You can't go by an eBay listing. You can say Murano in style or Art Glass Smooth Clear Bottom; also stickers are heavily faked on Murano.
Sewing patterns are only good if all the owners are inside. I inherited my sister's patterns. Had to go through them to see which ones where uncut(meaning the pieces are joined together when printed). Separated the cut from the uncut. Uncut can be listed right away. Cut patterns really need to be verified of all the pieces are inside. I've been sewing for 55 years
Vogue patterns are expensive You need to check each pattern. If they are uncut they will sell for more $$. If they are cut up. You need to check the pieces are all there. Or sell them cheap.
Hi Dave, I sell patterns, as long as they are uncut-unused and, if they are vintage, they can do even better. I search first for Designer, Vogue makes patterns by top designers and some of them are golden. The prices always seem to stay pretty stable (been selling them for 24 years). So, as a constant, slow income stream, they would be a good solid money maker, but....somebody has to list them all. I add 1 picture of the front of the pattern and a 1 line description to my eBay listing. They can ship as letter mail. You did very well buying them like that, I wish I was near enough to come buy them all from you! I sure would drive right over, but I am in Canada.
27:02 I’ve learned to do the same. We all leave things behind and some have a niche and might not want or know if certain items are worth picking up. I’ve found things worth money by digging and being more thorough.
Dave Dave Dave…what are you doing! The garage is looking like an episode of Steptoe & Son! Wish I could come and sort it for you. You too could be as rich as the very wealthy Commonwealth picker if only you would stick to being organised….also lots of items on eBay under the $15 mark. Naughty but we still love you and your family the best!
Feeling tells me people receive paychecks these Fridays, In the United States I'm liking my use of money - to buy real money sport cards or maybe collectables. Congratulations on a strong week, keep thinking sales 💪
Oh geez... this one upset my ocd a little haha. Eek! Ok.. so make a list- one day- organise, next ship, next list, next clean/sort..? As you list do a tub at a time? Take heaps of photos and list as you do other things? 😊 also good idea for lots of dvds/patterns- more than 15$... push that price point up a bit more! ❤❤
How do you constantly have no idea where you’ve stored items after listing? Wasn’t the whole point of the redesign to get things where you could find them? Maybe you should utilize the SKU field in the listings…to indicate which section you put the item? Seems like it’s time for another garage clean out/redesign coming up?
I actually had my best week since Christmas. Constant sales all week, except on Saturday when things went dead. Then they picked up a bit on Sunday night. I have 1 person who hasn't paid which is always frustrating.
I sell lots of DvDs and VHS..cl bolo's..Lonesome Dove on Blu Ray and Freakazoid ( 90s-00s ) animated show..picked up season 1&2 on regular DVD $1 each..sold in less than 12 hours for $54.99..last 2 weeks my sales on eBay have been the best 2 of my career! I think it's quality of my stuff was better..also had the best flip ever.. vintage ladies leather Frye Riding boots..$2.00 for $311.00 including shipping
I had ran an 18% off sale on eBay. People thought I was trying to give things away. Lol. Wonder what makes think that? I typically have 15% off all the time
Hey, Dave. You might have recalled my pattern buy when we were at Webster during the TTC meetup last year. I got 120 patterns for 100 bucks. My initial thought was to lot them up also, but there were no logical bundle options. So I took to individual listings. Being all pretty similar, the listing process went quickly, they eventually took about 2 minutes each to put up on eBay, so in 3 evenings they were all listed. About 13.99 for the common ones, up to 24.99 for more rare, (french style, eg patterns). I'm not getting immensely rich off of the buy, but sales are steady, about 1 per week, after the initial good sales period when they were fresh listings. To date, I have sold off about 1/3 of them, and for 83 cents into $15 a sale, it was worth the effort to get them back to NY from Florida - BTW, shout out to Jefferson (CJ Benz Flips) for helping me to get them shipped home. Good luck with yours. Mike from NY
I listed some cream that helps women lose weight on their hips on mercari and they took it down and said it's a item you can't sell Just letting everyone be aware of that
I had an opposite weekend 3 little boxes came home and it's because the price was right, not because they were good items. Patterns lot up by age, I think, so then people can get 70s or 80s etc. I price where I should and still have to do promotion sales. Far away sales, if the sale is worth it I go. My far away is Baton Rogue at 3 hours or New Orleans/Mobile at 1-1.5 hours. I haven't done Pensacola yet at 3 hours because I assume they are more expensive based on the estate sale companies. There are a few rare style longaberger otherwise yea, skip. Yes I rolled into my favorite estate company at noon because there wasn't anything to fight over, walked out with an $80 piece of fenton.
Instead of making constant mistakes, why not double check your work? You could have gone into your eBay store, after posting the discount, and made sure that the discount was only turned on for certain items and not the entire store. With all of bills you talk about having to pay, I just don’t understand why you keep shorting yourself on potential profits. I just doesn’t make sense!
Sales are down due to this terrible inflation we are living in. When people are struggling to buy food, they sure can't afford to buy unnecessary items. I'm actually surprised that you're earning a living reselling.
When I pick up DVDs cheap, I pull all the decent ones ($10+) and hold onto the rest until I have 100 or more. Then, I sell them for ~$50 on Marketplace.

please please do not list the swords on mercari..
You know he will
😂
He will post and then make a video saying how he hopes Mercari will unban account again
😂😂😂

That particular Scentsy warmer is HIGHLY sought after in the scented wax world! Good flip!
Sewing patterns can do well as long as they are unused and 'uncut'. Good snag!

Thank you for pointing this out. I have bought a few supposed Murano pieces that were immediately returned because they were garbage.
I'm from Fort Pierce!!! So cool to hear yall were here!
Glad to see sales have picked up I’m sure they will continue to grow with more listing. 🇦🇺😎👍
Love listening to you and you have absolutely changed as a reseller

Can't wait to see what other gems you purchased. And to your son - WOW, what a fish!! Good job!!!

Poor Elijah! But there is the satisfaction of catching that BIG fish though! ❤🎉

Patterns people pay good money to make outfits
Hey Oh!!!!
I hope u have some Barbie doll patterns!!! They sell good
I love minutes away Fort Pierce, nice!!!
Cool pattern deal!
It's funny how we keep buying when we totally don't need more inventory. I'm guilty
I think I am going to move to Florida.... I need better sourcing and I think that what you are showing me is you can get the goods where you live at.
Swords are just big knives!

Patterns sell, but not quickly.
This week was wonderful for sales and no promotion on my store
I thank you for making this videos you are a cool nice person

A cool experiment; list items at the lowest price on eBay..which would be more than whatnot..see if sales go through the roof
They are steel cutting tools.
5 pound difference "i'm not that far off" right LOL
$382!!!!! NICE! It sucks that it was bundled in the discount but still what a flip!
I had ran an 18% off sale on eBay. People thought I was trying to give things away. Lol. Wonder what makes think that? I typically have 15% off all the time
Thanks for sharing!
He forgot to say watch till the end to see the awesome fish My son got! Beautiful! Worth getting seasick over not sure. But a great fish.
Dave you're going to need another storage container

**CJ Benz Finds**, that is.
Nice fish well done.

I think you can sell patterns on WN in the craft section …good 🍀
The box could go on marketplace
With old Windows, license is per copy installed on 1 machine; Windows 10 and above, it's licensed to the machine.
Last Monday I got a load of Harley Davidson stuff
I had an opposite weekend 3 little boxes came home and it's because the price was right, not because they were good items.

What about doing a whatnot every month of listings that are 6 months or a year old
You overprice things because you know you're going to get low ball offers and run 15% off sales. It balances out!😅
I have to list three days of auctions
does mercari put stuff on free shipping because i wake up this morning and half my listings were free shipping
Is Cary going to be awake by 7pm est?
Good looking fish!
Hi Dave and gang
Nice weekend we had
Went to three auctions in uk

People will never quit buying unnecessary things.
@tamarapowers Yeah, concerning unnecessary things right now, I’m like… When in doubt, do without.
Haha !!! 👎👎
When I pick up DVDs cheap, I pull all the decent ones ($10+) and hold onto the rest until I have 100 or more. Then, I sell them for ~$50 on Marketplace.
Dave don't put those swords on Macari. Lol
Hello 😊🎉
