She probably doesn't want more to feed, snd she obviously wants to eat the eggs. So, she is probably closing it off during daylight hours to attempt to prevent this.

Love her perseverance. The roof needs to be covered with two sheets of thick plastic in my opinion cut to size and tacked down to prevent leaks in between the wood panels. I know she has a bit of plastic on it currently but it needs to be iron clad for bad weather. All blessings sent.
