This is my favorite interview with her I think. She speaks so astutely about feminism and ironically I actually owe it to her that I'm not having a freak out in my 20s. I used to get close to having a panic attack when I thought about growing up and becoming a woman, but it was watching her be so confident in womanhood that made me start to look forward to it without fear.

I thought that she would look sexy despite the buzzcut, maybe like Persis Khambatta did, but when I saw her, it was a big letdown. Seeing her shorn head in the trailer convinced me that I did NOT want to see this movie! lol Can't win them all!

***** I disagree with "most ppl". I saw many pictures of her in her buzz, and I thought that they all made her appear very ordinary. Her crop cut in Astronaut's Wife was very flattering, in contrast. That was many years ago, of course, but I always thought that women over 40 are wise to flaunt youthful long locks. I hope she doesn't ever do this again.

Goremeister100 Um, the hair length that she has in the film would have required her head to have been shaved... Even if it isn't shiny, not-a-trace-of-stubble kind of shaved. Also, to expect candid photos of her just after she may have shaved her head is completely unrealistic. She would have been able to stay clear of the paparazzi for long enough if she wanted to.

Yeah when I first shaved my head and had a shower I was like OMGMGGMGg. Legit best thing in the world, women who have never had short/shaved hair are missing out. Gotta do it at least once.
This magical shower thing you guys are talking about really makes me want to finally go there and shave it all off. Maybe one day!
***** I've grown it out to a short faux hawk sorta thing with sideburns on the side, bit of a rockabilly style, but still have it shaved on the sides.
I initially did it cause my hair got progressively shorter and shorter as I wanted to try more extreme styles, then I just shaved it almost all off entirely out of boredom.
Now it's moreso for convenience and honestly an addiction to the feeling of a freshly shaved head (not all the way but about 3mm). Feels amazing.
I'm not that attached to my hair and it grew back quickly, so anyone afraid of doing it needn't stress too much - hair seems like it grows faster when it's short (obviously doesn't, just is more noticeable).
Give it a shot!

It's very freeing. Natalie made me want to do it and then I saw Fury Road and felt even better about the decision.
you feel so light afterwards, its so weird and nice. also the expensive of shampoo gets cut a lot
but! if you do, make sure to apply sunscreen if going out in direct sunlight cause your scalp can get sunburnt and thats no fun

How ironic is it that during a conversation about “Mad Max Fury Road” the topic of age is brought up. Since for the origin movie their making about Imperator Furiosa a character btw the whole world pretty much thinks her performance is iconic. She’s now basically been told by a studio she’s to old to continue on with.
I don't mean to be that guy that talks about a woman's looks before anything else, but I just want to say HOLY SMOKES did Charlize achieve her ultimate form recently?? I mean she's always been beautiful, but I swear lately she looks like she just stepped out the gates of Olympus. Not just in looks, but all the confidence.

+Underrated Critic Mad Max was filmed in 2013. It had an unusually long post-production period. Plenty of time for hair to grow.
+dana d Actually filming ended in November 2012. Post-production took a lot of time but it was worth it.

As I vaguely recall, she probably dropped it after watching Dallas on TV 📺, for example. Hence her American 🇺🇸 accent which in my humble opinion sounds very perfect 👍 and articulate.
