Remaster is more cartoonish whereas GR2 is more realistic-ish with better lightning, they both look stunning in their own way! I just played some GR Remaster and its incredible how well this game has aged, either way, they are both underrated beautiful gems
So glad i played the first one on vita, decided to just library rent the remake on ps4 for the costumes to transfer to the sequel. Been an amazing adventure so far in the sequel, just returned to Hekseville and already played Raven's story.
I think the environments overall look better in 2, but Remastered has more detail put into the textures. Look at the steel beams at 1:45 for example: 2 has less detail in the texture, but it's higher res (I think, it looks like it is). Or the brick textures at 2:10, the brick in 2 looks TOO perfect, like a dollhouse. 1's has imperfections and looks kinda old. I think the fog and stuff the first one does to maintain its performance honestly does a lot to add to the atmosphere of the game. Haven't played 2 yet, and I'm looking forward to it, but that's something I'm gonna miss. 2 seems to have a much more complex and generally better looking lighting engine, which definitely does a lot to make the game look great. Though I'm not sure how often 10:06 happens in 2, where the textures haven't fully loaded yet when Kat gets close to them. I only had that happen a handful of times in 1 Remastered. If that becomes a persistent issue when your Fast Fall speed gets higher that's probably gonna be a big turnoff. You can see it happen again in the Raven clip afterwards.
Hi there! I may be a bit late but I only own a PS4 for a year or so and both Gravity Rush games are on my wishlist. Question is : should I play GR1 and then 2 or can I content with one of them? If so which one? Thank you!
This is a difficult question. If you are a graphics person, just get Gravity Rush 2 since gravity rush 1's graphics are a bit dated. If you are in for the full experience, get both. The are some things in Gravity Rush 2 that you will only come to appreciate or appreciate more if you have played the first.

The second game overdid the bloom and everyone looks sort of oil-painted. Not saying it looks bad, I just like the first game more.
Justin Watson It doesn't run at 4k on PS4 Pro, the geometry is rendered at 4k, but the composite effects aren't, so you just get better anti aliasing, texture filtering, and distance geometry, shadows are lower resolution though, and effects like bloom stay the same resolution.

Hm, GR2 looks great but I still prefer GR1 for some reason. It looks more.. Atmospheric and stylish, it's something that gives it a cherry on top.
