I really enjoy your videos, because there is many to learn for me. I have an C1 (2010) and I do all repairs by my self, if it's possible 😄 Thank and greetings from Switzerland!
Awesome! Thank you so much! The only information I was missing was that I need to first press in the bulb slightly, then twist ist, to get it out. Other than that, I was able to do it completely on my own with your help!
I've removed these on what was my dad's car a couple of years ago, but the video was useful as a quick brush up before doing the same on my daughter's car later this week.
legend. Don't know if you'll remember but I was moaning about a leak in my boot the other week. I resealed the top rear breaklight and boot and while it's helped significantly (really like 90% solved) it's still letting in water a bit.. I suspect (HOPE!) it's from the rear breaklight. Might take it off and have a look about - doesn't look too complicated, thank Christ..! Cheers again bud.
TBH, I don't remember specifically, what with so many people having leakage problems. Luckily the lights are easy to seal, BUT don't use silicone! or you'll have trouble getting them off next time you have a bulb failure. Also have a look at this video about boot leaks on the Saab. th-cam.com/video/_itEJxRSdZI/w-d-xo.html Navigate to the chapter about the boot seal and then do the same with yours. I will make a C1 specific vid eventually, but the method is exactly the same.
Thank you for the advice. I had terrible problems removing the bulb it was jammed so on advice i smashed the bulb then tried to remove it with pliers to no avail, i ended up digging it out with a srew driver snapping one of the plastic clips but the new bulb went in no probs and works but its a lot brighter than the other side. the bulb is the same as the one you stated and the correct one according to the parts shop.
Excellent my friend would of worked it out my self but with your vid probably made it 2 or 3 times quicker (and even saved me from maybe damaging some of the clips 🤪 as getting frustrated cuz trying to remove in wrong order for example) so sweet as a nut Nuff luv and respect to you Cyd
Thanks Nick. I'm hoping to do an LED conversion in the summer with a boost to the reverse lights too. Got some testing to do first, but keep an eye out.
Big thumbs up pal VERY useful video, gonna change break light on the mrs. 107, who knows might be on a promise for it later... 😅👍Thanks, greetings from Gedling in Nottinghamshire.
Thanks Gabriel, happy to help. I'm only just down the M1 near Lutterworth 👍 Have you seen this th-cam.com/video/9AZBh0TRQSI/w-d-xo.html I'll be doing something similar with the rear indicators soon to give more reversing light 🔦🔦
Hi, very good instructional videos. I have just changed the rear brake light bulb on an Aygo 2010. The brake light now works fine when the headlights are off, however, the brake light side I have changed stays on when the headlights are turned on? Any help would be great. Many thanks.
The Citroen C1 and Peugeot 107 rear light clusters are the same. However, the Toyota Aygo is different.✔ Note too that there is one each fog and reverse light. Fog on driver's side.
Do you have a video on how to swap the fog and reversing lights over? I've a LHD C1, and they are currently the wrong sides. If you have, super awesome. If you haven't, don't suppose you fancy taking a look into it? Your videos are lovely and clear, and have sorted a whole tonne of small niggles I've had with my Lily :)
Hi there! I did exactly as you explained, but my right side reverse light still won't work. I tried 2 bulbs, still nothing. I checked the cables and I don't see any issues with it. Any suggestions? Also, I'd like to ask for all your videos, I find it extremely helpful. Thanks!
Be careful with those tabs on the light units - they are incredibly brittle and fragile (I mean the ones on the bulb-holder half). There's a few broken ones in my garge that will attest to my point and I've had them broken in transit when ordering new bulb holders. Don't be tempted to push them down with a screwdriver, to compress the o-ring, for example.
Hello! Could you please write the name of the 10mm spanner thing you used at the beginning? Trying to do this myself but can't figure out what it's called 😂😢 thanks
Thank you so much for this video! But I don’t need to change the bulbs. I need the red plastic cap over the bulb. Does anyone know where I can find that piece? I’d rather not have to buy a whole unit. Thanks so much in advance!
Great video ! Can you please shed light on how to remove 3rd brake light of Yaris Hybrid 2014 model? I have ordered a replacement and I wonder if I can change myself.
Extremely common on these. The bulbs don't 'overheat', it's just the normal running temp is too high for the cheap shit red plastic they make those coloured cups from.
Yes you can, as this is not a canbus car. However, you will need to put a 6ohm resistor in parallel with the indicator bulbs or the flasher unit thinks there's a failure and flashes at twice speed.
Yeah, not many videos about the mk2 yet. Are you referring to the lights in particular? I do know someone who's got one but not sure if she'll let me loose on it, lol
Hi Jort, thanks for watching. Sorry I didn't identify the wires at that detail as it wasn't necessary for a bulb change. Easy enough to trace the steel tracks back from the bulb to the connector though.
Hopefully you’ll see this comment cyd. The screw/bolt for the light cluster screws into a grommet. Do you by any chance know what they’re called or their part number. Been hearing a knocking noise and it turns out the screw doesn’t screw properly and is just spinning. Rang a Citroen dealership nearby and they basically told me they haven’t a clue they’re called
I haven't looked, but negative is usually common and black colour. Positive is always the centre connection and is easy to trace the tracks back to the connector.
Hi Philada, check the condition of the connection at the light unit (look for corrosion, especially the 'earth'). After that check the fuse and then gearbox switch. And it might seem obvious, but look closely at the bulb filament in case you've fitted a faulty bulb. Do let us know how you get on.

Thanks a lot for noting down the bulb type. Couldn't have gotten the right ones without you cheers
Beautifully clear. Never done it before - ordering myself a P21/5W.
I'd suggest doing the indicator while you're at it (PY21W) - the yellow degrades and flakes off.

Can you use led bulbs in the rear lights?? Suspect you will need a CanBus 21w bulb for the indicator?

I don't have access to a Yaris, so can't help directly, but it can't be too difficult. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the exact same light unit.
Thank you!
Which bulb do I need for the blinker light?
P21W

Is the interior bulb a 5w5 so I can change it to led?
Yes, W5W. I've just bought some white and some amber of these and am well chuffed with them bit.ly/w5w_LED

Hi! Why is the reverse light red? it should be white.
That lamp position is shared by the reverse and fog. Fog (red) on drivers side, reverse (white) on passenger side. 💡
