So happy to hear you talk about the blackout fingers. It seems artists hate posting healed photos and never actually tag the client so we cant stalk to find out the outcome or reality of what to expect. Although every skin adapts differently i feel like some artists really try to paint this godlike work when its just not going to heal like that.
It can be done, but never on one pass, so the outcomes really should be posted. The client isn’t seeing the whole story.

Yup, those are my ripped up fingers. Long story short, I had an allergic reaction to the healing ointment and had no idea what was happening until it was too late. It was also the very first tattoo I had ever gotten, so I had no idea what I was doing. (I went in with a whole body suit plan and we just ended up starting on the arm.) But yeah, I already knew it was gonna take a minimum of 3 passes to get it close to where we want it. Fun times man. (Since then I've gotten almost the entirety of my arm, one leg and part of the other leg done... I'm holding off on going back over the fingers until summer.)

I'm a bit late for the video, but i totally agree on the finger/hand black out. I got a negative space / black out tattoo on my left hand last november, second round in early february (i think), third round already planned. We added some stuff on the fingers in february, so it may take a fourth round to get them finished. The back of the hand healed quite nicely, only some little adjustments needed, but as soon as you get close to the nuckles and fingers it gets lighter and some parts did not stay at all. But i knew what to expect, so i'm fine with that :)
i kind of get the "it DID suck...let's do it again" thing - but only for other body parts, not on my hands lol. I got a quite huge tattoo on my leg in one sitting. It was painful but also one of the coolest appointments so far and i'm looking forward to the next big project this fall. However, i don't really enjoy getting the hand done. I'll get it done as often as i need to, but i won't enjoy the sessions (and healing...it's so annoying) as much
oh and now i understand why this one artist on instagram did a whole fotoshooting with his client right after the tattoo was done - it would not look as nice once it healed and he probably did not want to wait for 2-3 sessions until he can post it :D
I own the roses black out. I appreciate the laughs & compliments! I actually just retouched up all of those chest & leg pieces recently. As well as my gears at the bottom. All brand new, I may go full black out eventually but for now I’m digging the new look of gears lol I’m a walking flash poster I take some pride in it 🤣 love the video Rem!

I (so far ) have one pass on my right arm . Nowhere near perfect . Unfortunately my artist moved so now I have to find someone else to go over it a few more times. It’s a struggle finding someone :(

Tribal hand is what both of my arms looked like until I went over a lot of it with skulls and roses. Tribal was trendy and I filled my arms up quickly. You can still see most of it but at a distance it disappears into the carnage.🤣

Lol I just got my hand done, and it is very true it looks like crap the first pass. And it is annoying, people saying oh wow that's not good, and other stupid comments lol it's like I know it's not done yet lol

As far as hand tats; I've talked before about my red out project on my hand, and it is a f*cking process... But the funny thing is I'm into about the sixth hour; I've made one pass wrapped around the wrist to just under the palm, over the back of the thumb, and two passes on the top main panel... I'm no where near done, but lately it hasn't been the gruelling process it was early on. I did an hour yesterday, and I'm already thinking about doing an hour today or tomorrow. Might even start doing an hour every other day

I would really like to do finger black outs. I just don't have the resolve to pull my nails and ink the beds.. F*CK that . And that would in my mind look the dopest
I’ve heard you can inject underneath the nail beds too, but actually tattooing them would need to be done many times
@@EphemeralRemy I seem to remember that politicians in the 1800s fingers died black, from dipping the quills. I wonder if that would have a lasting effect if you did a daily routine in some India ??
