Back in the 90s I was buying them from Century International Arms in the Turk 4-fer $100 deals. That included 4 Turkish Mausers, 4 bayonets with sheaths and 4 ammo pouches. Also, you could buy a case of 1,300 rounds of Turkish 8mm on strippers with 70 round cloth bandoliers for 4 cents a shot. Those were the good old days of collecting.

Fun fact: Mausers can actually load six rounds, it’s an old deleted feature from the days of the single shot rifles. If you load five rounds into the magazine and hold them down and push the bolt over the rounds, you can load a sixth round on top and chamber it.

I have had 2 or 3 of these and they were All tack driver accurate out to 100+ yards!

I’ve shot mine out to 400 yards with irons on man sized steel and I tell you what it’s a really accurate rifle

Used to have one of those when I was a young man, but I think it was only around $100 back then lol. I used that old eastern block milsurp fmj ammo on the stripper clips, it would go thru several trees until you lost its path lol so powerful. I would like to see you shoot some level 4 plates with those rounds just to see what would happen, cuz I'm not convinced they'd stop it lol.

8mm Mauser is under a dollar a round and lots of surplus ammo available. 6.5 Carcano, you're lucky if you can find it for under $2 a round.
