Warlander Horses: Everything You Need to Know

While we do know bits and pieces about the Warlander horse breed, there is a lot of confusion going around the breed’s inception, since nobody knows exactly how old the breed is nor what genes went into it in order to create it.

I didn’t know the breed association limited how tall Warlanders can be. I have to wonder why. My horse, Meritage, topped out at 17.1 and he pretty much swept every class we put him in. We took him to the Canadian PAALH Nationals in ‘08 and people were pulling their horses if they saw he was in the class.

A Warlander is almost always 50% Friesian and 50% Andalusian. Where do these people get the 75%/25%?
