DUP scuppered the May deal, which would have ensured none of this would happen. They were told repeatedly that this would be the consequence. So, thank the DUP. No one else's fault.
As an Ebay seller also based in N.Ireland, we are in a similar situation sales have dropped approx 70% this month and we can't see why. We sell construction products and are having the same issue with customs declaration for ROI sales as well. Considering letting ebay shop go and focusing on our website going forward, reach out Big Al would be interested in a chat. Thanks Michael
The protocol and the framework was put in place and implemented by the BRITISH government not MLA’s in Northern Ireland. Also if you have a problem post brexit talk to Borris Johnson, Nigel farrage and the ERG, they’re the ones that put you in this position.
ebay said they would turn items off that dont comply with GSPR but i sold an item i listed on the 14th with no GSPR information to germany, apparently was a glitch. they told me its fixed now so again left my options as they were, hopefully one day the restrictions will be removed, but with the currupt people we have running these countries in charge i cant see anything changing that benefits us on a side note, i dont believe ive seen anything GSPR related on my ebay account since it started, no prompts to fill the information in, no warnings to say this listing will be hidden, nothing has changed for me
This will probably require the GB govt to set up an a Responsible Economic Operator with a nod from the EU or if gets worse (ie no EU assistance) invoke Article 16 of the WF. Ball is in both their courts
Sadly i've had to switch off NI & Europe being based in England, i kept getting kid's toys pulled off ebay and would of become unmanageable remember what i can and cannot list. Too much hassle filling out all the safety information. Sad times..even worse for you guys!! Feel bad for NI!!

Yes I've had to do the same. Sell a mixture of new and used parts for sailing boats. Far too expensive to comply with the new EU directive so sadly withdrawn sales to NI. I feel sorry for NI as parts etc will only be more expensive and difficult to get from small businesses in mainland Britain.
The UK was a union within a union, one part bordered the EU, what could go wrong, as for a reunited Ireland, we must give a big shout out to the DUP...
I’ve not switched off anyone. Am I wrong in thinking that Northern Ireland was part of the Brexit vote? and when Brexit happened Northern Ireland was previously, during and after Brexit, still part of the UK? In that case why are your regional politicians voting to bow down to a European Parliament that citizens of the UK rejected? I honestly think that we’d be better off without career politicians who only vote the way they are told so that they keep their pay check, ludicrous expenses, lined up jobs on the boards of multi national companies when they come out of politics and second homes that WE pay for. Appears that coming out of Europe wasn’t the bed of roses that Boris and his ilk promised. They can’t keep a good man down, keep fighting Big Al and please keep the updates coming.
Northern Ireland voted to remain, mainly for economic reasons if I correctly remember the exit polls. According to a poll run by the Queen's University Belfast 57% of voters polled in N. Ireland supported keeping the rules as they are now (33% against), so it shouldn't be overly surprising that most MLAs voted the way they did (all politicians closely follow any polling results).
Basically the NIP/WF prevents - - the loss of 40,000 jobs in NI as a result of losing frictionless access to the EU single market - something a former leader of the DUP was prepared to live with. - longer commutes for 30,000 plus cross border workers - most of whom live in NI - the culling of 45,000 dairy cows in NI in order to prevent an environmental and /or animal health crises - NI has only 66% raw milk processing capacity so the remainder has to be processed in ROI. - the culling pf 400,000 lambs and hoggets and 300,000 breeding ewes in NI as - NI has only 55% lamb slaughtering capacity so the remainder has to be slaughter in ROI. These would be among the consequences of reinstating a customs border, and relocating the pre-brexit SPS border from the sea, to between NI and ROI. If the UK had remained on the EU, the GPSR would have applied to economic operators placing goods on the GB market.
Since 13th Dec Ive had one ebay sale to Belfast (Im business seller in N.I.) I have no gpsr details completed and the sale went through no contact from ebay (as yet). Al - this new rule, are you referring to the postal directive coming in place on 31 March 2025?
Al, in March what will happen to sellers who live in NI but don’t pay VAT - I’m not at the threshold and won’t be for years yet if at all?
