I started teaching myself to draw not long ago, and it is so draining to focus on constant practice and no fun. Sometimes the soul just needs to be free to do what it wants.
I don't know much about intuitive painting, but it seems like your subconscious is applying all those skills you've learned, even if there's no conscious planning going on. I love the blending of the colors and how coherently chaotic the buildings, trees, and (water?) look together. It's great!

100% agree. I've been focusing so much on really trying to improve and it can be so draining. When really I draw and paint for the enjoyment of it! I never want to loose that. So I think doing something like this is so important to just remind myself to have fun and go with the flow. In particular feeling so unwell it was nice to just zone out and paint and relax!
I think your probably right. It's funny while I was making a cup of tea etc waiting for the paint to dry for the next day I kept coming back to just look at it. I'm not sure where the cityscape idea came from but I love the chaos. My mum came to visit and she asked if I'd painted an earthquake which I absolutely loved 😅! I literally just mixed my favorite colours and splashed them all over the canvas. Was really enjoyable!
Glad to hear you like how it looks. I honestly thought I'd get some negative comments so it's nice to know some do like it 🥰!
Thanks for taking the time to comment 🩷

Well done for getting started on your creative journey. Sorry to hear about your health issues but it sounds like you made the most out of the situation and found a lovely new interest that is so rewarding!
It is a really fun and relaxing way to paint! I defiantly think more people should give it a go!
I hope I feel better to. Hoping by this weekend it will start to lift!

I absolutely agree that everyone should incorporate warming up with some kind of intuitive practice in their preferred art medium. Lovely work. Feel better❤

I've only been doing a 'warm up' before creating for 6 or so months. Wish I'd discovered it earlier!
Thank you! 😊 I'm sure I'll be back to my usual self soon!

Louise, this is a phenomenal piece of art! Totally mind-blowing.
Meanwhile, I can fully understand you thinking, "It's just a bad cold and looking after the family/" but obviously it goes deeper than that, so I'm hoping that between you and the medics, the right treatment will work its miracles for you. I think the art piece has probably done a great deal to help, and it's something really good to come out of this physical mess.
As health professionals, we're usually far too slow to 'bother' the health professionals with our own health (I'm guilty of this, but I still still do the "Oh, I won't bother them" stuff!!!), and I'm very glad that you did 'bother' them in the end and that the doctor has been thorough and taken all the tests needed.
Hopefully, the prescribed treatments will eventually sort things out. Alarm bells were ringing horrendously loudly in my head at the beginning of the video, but I held on to the fact that you had actually been able to make this totally amazing piece of art into an edited, cohesive, interesting video. Not sure how you did, given how ill you were, but you did it!!! Thank you from my heart for sharing it with us!
BTW, yes, as you found out, those black spots are spider poo - can also be crane fly poo - and soo annoying. I get crane fly problems for about 9 months of the year, because I live with the windows wide open most of the time. I keep saying I should try to fit screens, but then I'd also lose being able to see out as clearly. Also, the wee beasties would still get in through the edges of the screens where they meet the uneven walls, so I sweep the ceilings and walls regularly to get rid of them!

Thanks for the lovely comment. Glad you like the painting 🥰 it was very relaxing to do and took my mind of feeling rotten so very glad I did it!
I'm still horribly sick 😭 hoping by the weekend to be a bit more bright. I have a really good doctor who's been very thorough, so hopefully, I'll be back to normal soon. I am 100% guilty of not wanting to use the NHS unless its absolutely necessary. A few years ago, when I was feeling very unwell and breathless/really fast pulse (turned out I had a blood clot in my lung) I called 111 for help and after talking to me they swiftly told me I should have called 999 in the state I was in. I didn't want to make a fuss and thought an ambulance was being 'dramatic' and a waste of tax payers money...but turns out I was infact in need of urgent help. Woops. I learned from that if ever in doubt its okay to call, they are very good a prioritising people appropriately.
The heart event monitor I have to wear for 5 days is just a precaution and to make sure nothings going on. If everything's normal there the palpation I'm feeling are properly just an unpleasant side effect of bad anemia. 👎
Im happy that at least this creation could come out of me feeling so rough. Silver lining!!
We have ALOT of crane flys in and out of the house here so I wouldn't be surprised if its a mix of both! ...lovely 🫠🫠 In the summer when I paint or draw I have the garage doors open for air and light so I'm probably adding to the creepy crawly issue! I fit screens to my windows upstairs as i was stung by wasps 3 years in a row! It kept out the wasps and flys but the spiders ALWAYS sneak their way it! I don't mind them so much. Except we recently had one living in the fire alarm and it set it off twice so we had to evict them outside and dust it all out!
      Hope you're well!
