My favourite Doobie Brothers song, saw them in 76 with Lynyrd Skynyrd opening, great show, violin fiddle, same thing like car and auto, great reaction as always.
I love watching your pure joy when listening to these great songs! It's too bad you missed out on the 60's and 70's, I think it's great though that you can listen to some of it here though! A honky tonk is a country bar, FANTASTIC reaction!
Great song. Definitely deceptive if you've never heard it before. I heard one young man's description as "it started out like Grandma's front porch wind chimes"🤣 Glad you liked it as much as I do
The "funky" Doobie Brothers tunes, for the most part, are during the Michael McDonald era: "Takin' it to the Streets," "It Keeps you Runnin'," "What a Fool Believes," "Minute by Minute," "Echoes of Love" (a surprisingly funky tune penned by Patrick Simmons who penned "Black Water"), just to name a few.
The difference between a fiddle and a violin is who is playing it and what style of music they are playing. The fiddle and violin are the same instrument.
Love this song too! If you are looking for some fun, funky music, you should check out "Play That Funky Music" by Wild Cherry, "Word Up" by Cameo, "Super Freak" Rick James and "Brick House" by the Commodores.
That's funny, I was going to say something about well it was inherently funky from the start, it's just more subtle and it's more simple. It gets more explicitly funky later. But then you ended up saying basically the same thing I think. It's a great insight.
Such a mood this song provides - it doesn't get old. Ace you'll have such a good variety of quality music to pick from when needing to impress. Dixie Land fun!
China Grove should be next. Or anything from the Tom Johnston era. Sorry, but I've seen too many bands soften up in their later years. I understand that people mature and change, but I just feel that they trade the fire for sophistication.
Whoever told you this was funky was a little mixed up. But it's still a gem of a doobie brothers song with great harmonies Long train running was probably one of their funkiest. I guess the closest thing funkguitar. Style would be listen to the music or China Grove, maybe.oh yeah rocking down the highway
Thanks, Ace! This is my favorite by the Doobies! (gotta say that I never liked them as much when they added Michael McDonald.. to me his was just "meh").. also love all your reactions...
This is NOT funk! Super great tune. Actually one of my all time doobie fav's, but if you are REALLY wanting funk, why not start with this? Play That Funky Music Whiteboy th-cam.com/video/BHcYFxU4fMo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=nncUSF4D4o6x0LOQ Hope you enjoy!
It's laid back, swampy and bluesy and southern. what's not to love about it.
I love to see a younger generation appreciating really great music. Loving this. This is my favorite one from this album
Always one of my absolute favorite songs of all time!
One of the best concerts I went to back in the 70"s, thank you for the reaction.
FYI- The "Bayou Fiddle" in "Black Water" was played by Novi Novog. It's actually a viola, and she was only 17 when she did it!
They did a cool version in 2020 in isolation. Each band member did their part in their homes. Had people around the country join in. It was great!
This is one of my all-time favorites

Where did you see them? I saw them that year too...or 75...in San Diego!!🎶🎼🎵🤘🤘

A classic and one of my favorites by The Doobies!
😁😁😁😁😁😁😁 couldn't tell you how many times I danced to this one -
The fiddle is just a violin played with a southern accent.
The chimes are percussion, played by the drummer.
Listen to the Music should be your next song to listen to awesome. That song brings back great times in college 😊
Damn that makes me so happy that you exclaimed FIDDLE! ❤
Stop playin. You hair is always on point. 😊...I can't wait to see your reaction to this 1. You're gonna love it!
Another Doobie playlist
Check out China Grove

Babe....that "tinkling" sound is wind chimes!! They fit perfectly!!🎶🎼🎵🎸🎧🥁🎤🎹🔥🤘🤘🤘 Cheers to the rum & coke 🥃🥃
Not a lot of humans make me smile on sight. You’re one of em .
I live about 15 minutes from the Mississippi, where it flows east and west.

I needed this....
I mentioned The Fez by Steely Dan, but another great, funky one by them is GREEN EARRINGS. Please, do both of these. They're fantastic!
The difference between a fiddle and a violin is who is playing it and what style of music they are playing. The fiddle and violin are the same instrument.
Three more exceptional Patrick Simmons-penned tunes by The Doobie Brothers: "Toulouse Street," "South City Midnight Lady," "I Cheat the Hangman."
You need to listen to the whole song to appreciate it.
A GREAT follow up to this would be "Home" by Marc Broussard
"You Just Can't Stop It" = Next Level Funk .
🎻🎶👏
Aerosmith -"Seasons Of Wither"
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Wind chimes
Chimes maybe, great song by them back in the day 👍

Have you tried Tell Me Something Good by Rufus or Right Place Wrong Time by Doctor John or Pants by Here Come the Mummies for funky.
Great reaction Ace 👏👏👏 If you want to hear funk the song is "Love Machine" by the Miracles 😎 I think you'll like it ☮️
💯🔥🔥🔥
@@bearballin Do you think Ace would like the song?
Its not a fiddle, its a viola. Kind of a cross between a violin and a fiddle.
China Grove should be next. Or anything from the Tom Johnston era. Sorry, but I've seen too many bands soften up in their later years. I understand that people mature and change, but I just feel that they trade the fire for sophistication.
Want some funk? The Brothers Johnson - Strawberry letter 23
Maybe what you had in mind for funk was something from Parliament? Like Flashlight.
Funk...Brothers Johnson......Stomp & Strawberry Letter 23
Try the group "Cameo" video "You make me work" for some funk
Not funky enough; Steely Dan, Do It Again or Loggins and Messina, Angry Eyes
Whoever told you this was funky was a little mixed up. But it's still a gem of a doobie brothers song with great harmonies

Ace my man! Funk you say? Try doing - Tell Me Something Good (1974) by Rufus featuring Chaka Khan!
Thanks, Ace! This is my favorite by the Doobies! (gotta say that I never liked them as much when they added Michael McDonald.. to me his was just "meh").. also love all your reactions...
That's me too! I much prefer Tom Johnston's vocals. He defines the Doobies' sound as far as I'm concerned!

You want funky, do THE FEZ by Steely Dan. I think you'll love it!
Led Zeplin vibes .. no plagiarism here
Funky? Play That Funky Music by Wild Cherry is funky. Fingerprint File by the Rolling Stones has the funkiest guitars ever.
Love Tom Johnston and Michael McDonald more Doobie Brothers ❤
You want funk, Average White Band. Anything from the AWB.
