Okay, gotta say this cause you guys couldn't be more wrong about the goalkeeper 😂 Coming out of the goal to get closer to the striker/attacking player IS the right choice, at least when it's one on one and there's no defenders to put pressure on him. It makes shooting on goal, usually, harder, it makes avoiding the goalkeeper harder, as shooting with him closer to the player, makes it so he has to shoot wider earlier, making so the goalie either blocks the shot, or it goes wide and out. I.... explained it horribly i feel like, but yeah, that's the basic concept of it.😅

If the goalkeeper doesn't come out and pressure the attacking player, then they will have the entire goal to shoot at and will have all the time in the world to just place it wherever they want, whereas if the goalkeeper comes out, it limits their options and adds pressure making it more likely for the player to panic.
Absolutely. It is a matter of geometry. When the distance between striker and goalkeeper shrinks. the available angle and space to hit the goal is drastically reduced.

Not always, but yeah it tightens the angle you have to shoot from and makes it much harder. But it depends who is attacking you, because a lot of strikers will have enough ball skills to just get right past you.

Many people have said it already, but in a situation where there are no defenders, the goalkeeper needs to get as close to the shooting player as possible. The zoreaux hate is so annoying. They have to create drama within the games we watch and that only comes from playing close games or from behind. He has his time to shine later in the season, but they can't show him dominate or the struggles of the season won't work as a storyline.

Everyone who watches a show like this or Blue Lock and sees a 1 v 1 usually gets on the keeper for coming out to close down the striker but thats what the keeper is supposed to do. Other comments explained why so I'm not gonna go in depth but just to increase the likelihood of y'all reading that. Thats what goal keepers are supposed to do.
