Plus Steve grew up like he was supposed to and Myra couldn't stand it. I like that Laura and Steve got together b/c the writers had Laura reverse herself on just about everything she said she'd never do. And Steve said he'd always love Laura. Myra never should have ever been his girlfriend based on that alone.
Laura was annoyed with Steve at times, but overtime when it counted, she was always there when he needed a friend. He did the same when the boys she liked turned out to be jackasses or when he was bullied, she would persuade him not to fight them. Even though she loved it when he transformed into Stefan (he was her fantasy), she grew to love & appreciate Steve Urkel for him. Plus, unlike Myra, she never expected him to change himself to make her happy.
At the same time, Steve needed Myra in order for him to change his ways. When Laura told him to grow up and stop pestering her earlier, he never got the hint and thought his ways was working. Myra taught Steve a hard lesson in respecting personal boundaries by putting him in the same position as the Winslows in invading his personal, stalking him relentlessly and demanding commitment from him. She took the lesson to another level by forcibly having sex with him in his locker and drawing him naked in his room. This made Steve reflect on himself and realized how annoying he is in general. Accepting that he needed to do a lot of maturing, starting with his attitude. Once Steve agreed to recommit to Myra, everything calmed down. She started maturing and he was less attached to the Winslows.
If Myra had really loved Steve, she would have tried to build a friendship with him first before dating him, if Steve is already in love with someone else. Then, maybe if Laura found someone else she loves so much she'd want to marry, Steve would understand and move on, and Myra would be a potential life mate in that case.

Myra was a doll but Laura was GORGEOUS , smart , socially conscious and a sweetheart 😍. she was aware of her beauty whats wrong with that.This girl had the finest dudes in the school chasing her. Every body mad cause she didn't want Steve socially awkward, nerdy behind . And in real life he would have had the same issues. She came around eventually because he's a great guy . Look at all times she did things for him and stood up for him.. but come on who would be initially physically attracted to Steve. He got really lucky catching his dream girl. IN REAL life when a guy is friend zoned 9 times out 10 he stays friend zoned.
