I love big trees. Growing up in the 50s and 60s we always had a 12 foot live tree. My Mom would decorate it. And as my 2 sisters and I got older we helped. Back then silver icicles were popular. We had to string them one strand at a time. It took hours but it was beautiful on our huge trees. Ah...the memories ❤💚💜💙💛

The Switch is a really great system for a family. We play Mario Kart, Mario Party, and Just Dance together all the time. I would suggest the regular switch because it can be played on the tv and as a handheld. Maybe do it as a gift to the entire family. Thanks for all the great videos, love watching you guys!

We’ve always put up our Christmas tree after thanksgiving and take it down after New Years. It’s a lot but I love it I’ll continue to do the same tradition with my babies🥰

My boys have a switch that can be played on the tv with two players or portable if needed. Our elf comes the day after Thanksgiving. That way I don’t forget the day. lol.

My sis built a house had a 13ft tree. And her babies all flew the nest and recently just downsized. About 5 years in her husbands job all year was to cut off all the “pre-lit” lights that sh*t the bed lol. He loved that job. Super magical though. My other sis had one too. You could see hers from the road. So they put a smaller tree on the top of the roof looked like the tree was the through the roof. Lol 🤦🏻♀️😂

YESSS on the switch! I don't know anything about the lite being only handheld, but the regular switch can be handheld OR hooked up to the tv. My kids love the switch! There's a Just Dance game that I think your entire family would enjoy, too! ☺️

Yes for the switch, there's so many great games for kids, and get a switch light. It's cheaper, and smaller for little hands
🤣that’s a paddle ball. My 6 year old got one from the dentist the other day, I had to explain to him how it works. I was born in the late 70s and raised in the 80s, so that was one of the main toys in my house.
I work in retail where we specialize in video games and electronic sales and this question gets asked A LOT!
The Nintendo switch can have it's pros and cons for younger kids - personal opinion it has more pros for families. I would recommend the Nintendo Switch not the Nintendo Switch lite. The lite is limited to what it can do - there are several games that are not compatible with the Nintendo lite due to features required to play and you can not connect it to your tv.
The Nintendo Switch is a great family console as there are plenty of games that can involve the entire family (extra accessories will be required to purchase). The Nintendo switch is both portable and stationary (connect to your tv). Since Carter is into Pokemon right now - they have several Pokemon games out and new ones coming soon that I think he will enjoy.
The only 2 cons in my opinion are games can be expensive ($40-$60) as kids can loose interest quickly in games. Another con can be the added accessories to buy for a larger family (joy-con controllers set of 2 $80); the controllers tend to only last for a few months (based on usage and how much you will allow your kids to handle the console unattended). Since the controllers slide off and on the console we see a lot of defective controllers come back due to the locking mechanism breaking. (if you buy extra controllers and the retailer offers a warranty I strongly recommend the warranty)
They also have educational games available that can be downloaded (extra purchase from Nintendo online store via the console) this really helped out then 6 year old son with sight words and spelling. Hope this helps!

My son is around Carter's age and loves his Switch. We have replaced the controllers once, but the cheap Amazon ones are holding up nicely haha! We also adjusted all the settings for safety. 💗
Our six year old son has been asking for a Switch for two years now and we finally got him one for this year’s Christmas! Lots of Pokémon games (there’s a free one too). The Switch can be played on your TV or handheld and the Lite is only handheld. I’d go with the Switch and you can buy extra controllers so the whole family can play together.

Our son Brayden who is 10 now had a switch at 6 and then he also has the switch lite . If I were u guys I would get Carter a switch lite for Christmas it’s a little smaller and they come in a variety of colors too which is pretty fun . ☺️
Just wait until your kids ask for an oculus haha 😂 that’s what Brayden is into now a days . It’s a virtual gaming system it’s pretty neat there’s soooo many games and things u can play and do on it like dance , workouts, climbing etc.

My son has always been the same way. Grew out of most toys very young. Still likes Legos at 8 but that’s about it. We got him a switch at 6 :) we got the one to hook up the tv so we can have family Mario night. He’s now 8 and just getting into games with his school friends online.

I love my Nintendo switch! I play animal crossing on it. If you get the Lite, there can be an issue with drifting with the toggles but it would be a good one for a kid. The other kind allows you to take it apart and play on the TV. I would probably do the more expensive one because it would give him more options and last longer. He could play old school Nintendo games and they have a bunch of kid friendly games too. Subscription doesn’t cost much and they’re rolling out bundles and expansion packs to keep the fun going.
Winters are long and cold up here in Northern Canada so we have a switch. I have 2 boys who are 4 and 6 and we love it. We limit time played on switch and make sure thyeu get plenty of exercise and play with toys too.

My child’s father bought him a PS5 at SEVEN (I think his passed down ps4 was perfectly fine for his age), so I think a switch is a good gift for a 6yo!
I'm also doing early x-mas shopping. Even regular orders on some items won't arrive until January on Amazon. So, I'm also worried about waiting much longer to get what I need for the holidays. I'm not taking my chances this year either.
Don’t waste your money on the light. Get the switch regular. My family and I have a blast with it
The switch is a great idea. You can also have multiplayer so we play as a family with our 3 kids (all under 6).
I’d go orginal and skip lite. It was perfect for my 6 year old! We did traditional games like Mario. Also, Minecraft for building etc on friendly mode.
We called my daughters shorts the traveling shorts they were 12 months but had an adjustable waist and fit her until she was almost 4. However adjustable waist pants have elastic and buttons on the inside and work wonders for those tiny waisted tall kids
There are pokemon card sets at Costco. I got one for my daughter for I believe $30 and it had like 15 packs of cards and two poke balls and a metal lunch box type case and stickers. ❤

I would get the regular switch because you can play games as a family on the tv! It’s a great system. And it is still a handheld as well. My 5 year old nephew loves his. So I think carter is a great age.
If you do get carter a switch get him a lite the regular switch is bigger and heavier plus you have to hook it up to television and you could also lose the remote because they can detach

I would say to get the Nintendo switch console that connects to the television. He can play on the console or share on the tv, also the remotes detach ans you can have two players. With the lite switch only one player at all times.
Elf on the shelf I bring out Oct 31st, we don’t celebrate Halloween so I bring out on that day ans we begin to do small Christmas decor the first week of November.

Yes. Get a switch. My nephew is 4 and plays it like a pro. The switch you can put on your tv and play multiplayer as they get older they can all play.. AND you can play as a handheld.
I’m also in Christmas mode too. We go to Disney the second week of November and I have decorated for Christmas Nov 1st since my kids were little (they’re 13&18now) but I wanna do it before Halloween this year lol they joy of the holidays is def needed this year

Nintendo Switch would be a great present for Carter, but also one all the kids can enjoy. There are many games that will appeal to all the kids and even adults enjoy them too.

Take it from a seasoned mum with three grown sons, any type of game can be a brilliant learning tool, great for hand eye co-ordination and for thinking things through to a conclusion as well as for figuring out a strategy. But, you will need to be the 'bad' guy sometimes and say enough. It will open all kinds of new arguments and bargaining sessions but as long as you establish the ground rules early, I think it's a good thing. Sometimes kids need to have a 'talking point' with their peers and you are, without doubt, the best people to know if Carter is ready for a little responsibility. My older two were all into games, still are actually lol but my younger one wasn't as bothered, they all turned out to be brilliant humans (even if I do say so myself lol). Age appropriate games are a must although you can also be the judge if you think one of your kids is mature enough to play a slightly older game. My eldest was a lot more mature so he had some leeway but I more or less stuck to the age limits otherwise. Sorry, that was a bit longwinded lol x
