This was a masterpiece of motivation for Johnson. He saw what I saw. They let of the gas each time they took control and he blasted them because that’s not what a Championship team should do. They played better with a lead the rest of the way to a repeat title. In fact, last for an NFC team.
Indeed he did. He thought they were mostly unfocused at times and lacked a killer instinct in this game. That they could win so easily on the road while putting in a lesser effort shows how good that team was.
I have been a Vikings fans for a very long time. From the time in high school since 89's in St paul.This team has been garage and till these days.I finally said enough and out of the bandwagon for 3years now. I do hoped that someday this team will get to the promise land.
If I remember rightly, this was the first meeting between the teams since the Herschel Walker Trade. The bad feeling between the two clubs over how that deal panned out was still huge, and Mike Lynn was hardly speaking to Jones & Johnson.

See Mike, with his mighty brain looked at all recent super bowl winning teams and decided an elite rb is all we needed to get to and win the SB. LOL. I was 20 years old when this trade happened and living in upstate NY. It took a few days for me to get the information on what we gave up for Walker. Tough to get good info back then. No instant news. Not gonna lie, I was excited and then I was absolutely floored. In my mind he gave up t he 90's for a roll of the dice. Did not turn out that bad as it turns out and we got a bit of satisfaction 10 years later when the cowboys passed on Randy Moss. But no super bowl. Still. Probably, at least not in my lifetime. So no, I don't feel good about it lol BUT it was a very viking thing to do. In fact, being a fan of this team for so long, with them probably being the most competitive pro sports franchise that has not only NOT won a championship but finds new and exciting ways to choke/lose/fall flat on their face regularly. Its become part of my and others identity. I would not even know what would happen if they did win it all. Heart attack maybe. That would be a viking thing to do.
I went to this game when I was a little kid. My grandpa and I took the train from Montana. Good memories.

Scottie Graham was fun watching him play.....he was short and was 230....it was like trying to stop a bowling ball.....he did great.
