The VA's are base in the UK. They are nerfing the VA's by ordering them to do American accents. They can do so much more if they drop the American accent and be British. Also, it would be a huge improvement if the voice direction is improved, regardless of the accennts.

I played Xenoblade 2 in japanese because the english voice is a curse! Iswear I tried countless times. I can't. 😭 My ears are gonna bleed. No offense to the english voice actors in that game. Maybe it's the director's fault or smething.
That is not at all what happened with Xenoblade 2. People grew fond of the accents, not the performances. Most of the performances of that game were still mediocre in parts with some even below average thanks to the bad voice direction. It reminds me of Stellar Blade and it's EN voiceover as I've been playing that recently. The world is neat to explore, the lore is nice, its aesthetically pleasing and general character design is top notch. However, the voice work is way below average with only the actress for the main character committing to her role(though she's ironically not stellar either). It clashes with all the good aspects of you like listening to English. As far as I can tell, I think both it and WuWa ran into a similar situation of running out of budget for the game so cuts were made at the most obvious and easiest category being the English dub. It's pretty unfortunate tbh

Xenoblade 2 actually had good VAs. It's just that most of the cinematics' actions (and antics, especially evident with Zeke) do not really match their voice. A good example would be Zeke's third appearance where he is praised endlessly for being the strongest warrior of Tantal. Xenoblade 3, on the other hand, perfected it. The voiceovers and the actions being shown in the cinematics flowed perfectly.
I typically like to play game language in whatever the original is, in this case Chinese. It keeps the original intent (see Genshin’s Xiao and his personality) and the most closely overseen direction. It also helps that I am using it as a learning opportunity to improve my intermediate Chinese.

In English he sounds too dramatic/cartoonish, in every other dub he is the complete opposite, very cold and stoic. His VA is talented but mostly used to doing work in Western children's television so maybe that is why he felt the need to be so extra. It's a shame, because a lot about Dottore's character is missed in this manner. However, at least it doesn't create a complete shitshow like these VA lines.

To be honest, as much I didn't like how some of Yangyang's lines were delivered (obviously from the directors), I really enjoyed the sound of her English voice
I didn't have any problem with Yangyang's line delivery, it was the EQ which was the serious problem. The "S" sounds were too harsh, and it all sounded incredibly compressed.
That isn't an audio cut. It's the auto advance having an incorrect timer, possibly it's timed to native. If you turn it off and click every line, it doesn't cut.

Kinda wished they added small sounds like gasps or pants smth like that. Makes the situation more serious when added in the right context. When I first saw some serious cutscenes it felt like the situation was a breeze for them not even gasping or panting when jumping or when Yangyang was suddenly abucted by Scar lol
I actually like the green haired irls accent at the end, Its so unique. And I am fine with Yangyang's voice, maybe a bit less sleepy, her calmness makes her feel like the caring mom of the group and contrasts in a good way with Chixia's.
This is why i turn the sound off and voice them myself lol Im trying to be a professional va when im older. I could probably start now since I'm rather talented at it, but... social anxiety gets in the way 😂

Remember guys, this just came up the budget was limited and they focused in the game improvement (as they should) now with the new incomes this kind of problems can be solved. Good quality VA isn't cheap at all.

He has a great voice actor, but the way he was directed to say his lines, or even just his lines specifically sounds so cringe and over the top, unnecessary. Or were they trying to make him feel like a worse psycho, imagine having to talk with someone who speaks like that all the time. Idk, it just annoys me a lot, I wanna mute my sound whenever he speaks.
There is another gacha game named Reverse 1999 with a bunch of British VA like this game, and their voice acting is good asf. Why don't Wuwa director let the voice actors use their normal accent.
Hard to criticize something you do not understand other than “it don’t sound good for me”. But on an actual note, it’s because their studio are in Asia, which is why Japanese, Chinese, and even Korean VAs are *at the very least* studio quality. English VAs on the other hand simply don’t meet up to the standards the other VAs set up, for example, their mic quality is actually really bad. Especially with Yangyang and Chixia, there are moments where you can tell they’re not trying to peak the mic (there are actually some lines where they do).
I think I'd rather hear Paimon go "WOAH that bell-looking thing just raised right out of the water!" at least it's a proper reaction and not random AI narration

Kennedy, or Yangyang JP Va (ishikawa Yui) she's voicing stelle, clorinde, Lucia, 2B, mikasa And there are many more, in fact almost all gacha games always have Ishikawa Yui

never noticed this since i use chinese/japanese dub right off the bat but wow 😭 i think they made some changes to the en dub especially with fem rover but i never knew the english dub was lacking so much

I don't think this was the voice actors fault, because I think these voice actors are genuinely talented. I think it was the directors fault. That being said, some of the voices are actually pretty good. I really liked Scar's and some other voices in the game.

I mean WuWa may has some stuff their doing better than GI but like chill as long as the game is like this keep coping. And before anyone starts throwing arguments, I don't really care. The animation is good and smooth that I ignore whatever wrong things in the script

yes the direction was terrible, and that's one main problem. The other main problem is that they forced British people, who never used an American accent, to speak in that accent. They sound so awkward cuz they dunno how to pronounce words in American accent
It's not like it's impossible to act while putting on a fake accent. The accent is like maybe 5% of the problem, the other 95% is bad direction.

not impossible, but really difficult if you never trained. it's not that easy to fake an accent you never made, you need to change the ways you talk and your mannerisms
