Agree totally though I also enjoy taking newbies out, but usually there is some reciprocity for instance a family who helped enable my disabled son to go on a school program I took them out for a trip on my larger boat tailored for their interests, others who were farmers who granted me hunting access similar.

Yep, I agree man! The being late thing especially pisses me off! A mate of mine has been late on me a couple of times now. The first time I let slide, but it happened a few more times after. Now I don't invite him! Lol It's about respect. Like you say, as skippers it's factored into our lives. We pay the costs, we carry the burden, we do all the work before and after... at a very minimum have the respect to be on time! Good vid mate. Merry xmas and safe diving. Cheers. Winny

@cheekypukeko hey thanks for watching. Yeah I know you've experienced some of these difficulties too. I'm lucky that my dive buddies are mostly punctual... but there is one who I've had some other issues with. Issues mentioned in this vid. I'm heading up to blenheim Xmas so hopefully doing a collab fish or dive with Alfies Outdoors... check out his channel. Hoping to shoot some butters over Xmas.

I think that I'm going to make it a mandatory requirement that any ride-alongs watch this 'training' video before jumping on my boat in the future. :)

@sambob6428 yeah Adreno have done a vid similar to this one on their channel. I've asked my dive buddies in the past to watch their video. Thanks for checking out mine... I hope it was good enough and I covered enough relevant issues.

This is exactly why I mostly dive on my own (95%) of the time. To much expectation of others, and I am unable to relax knowing I have someone else to look out for. Yes, all you people who "buddy" dive is really great. But im not there to hold hands and babysit. If im heading out and I ask someone to come, I dont expect anything from them as I am going out anyway. If I cant afford to take people in my boat, then I should buy a boogy board instead.

Arrange to do dive with friend of friend, he cancelled because to go fishing. Never asked him again.

@montyspearo yeah ppl Don't realize how it's just disrespecting your time. Glad to know I'm not the only one with these difficulties. Thanks for checking out my videos.
