The lyrics really say "wish on the scar", some say it has a reference to their other song, others say it has a reference to harry potter. I read it somewhere, that explains ; wish on a star for your dreams to come true, and for Jhope, he uses scars instead of star because the scars you've earned through life and hard work will be the cause of your dreams coming true.

Yes, I agree about the change in Anthony's reactions and personalities. BTS has a way of changing our lives and the ways we see things be it good or bad. Both their songs and the members themselves bring us laughters, positivities, inspirations, warmth and also tears at times when we see their struggles and listen to their emotional songs. This is what we called the BTS "Magic Shop" when we entered and came out a happier and more positive person.
Hope that all the BTS members and everybody always stay healthy both physically and mentally.

True. I think it also has to do with overcoming that "K-pop music" hurdle in the first place. Most of us can relate - we've all been prejudiced about it at some point, like "I know it's not my thing" or "I can't understand Korean so why listen" or "Isn't it just silly airheaded pop"... But once you get into it and see all the talent and diverse concepts and everything it offers, you feel free coz you just busted out of your own mental/imaginary wall. And then we don't care what anyone else might think. We don't need permission to like BTS or "K-pop", haha.

J-Hope lyrics says that because of his celebrity status there are things he has had to give up on. Being well known celebrity, for someone who already has them, it’s the ordinary life that becomes a dream. This might sound carefree & happy song, but there is a strong sense of melancholy in his lyricism. J-Hope manages to express his melancholic emotions while staying true to his playful persona. He's so talented. and you're right, he got the amazing cadence.
15:17 that shadow of an airplane was actually meant to be a teaser before he dropped the MV for his other song on the mixtape, Airplane. Which later inspired BTS to make a sequel of the song, Airplane Pt. 2 on Love Yourself: Tear, but with a completely different vibe from J-Hope's original Airplane. Geniuses!
J Hope is the ultimate 21st century entertainer. Rapping, singing, dancing, performing, very original and totally watchable.
I was in a really dark place when this track was released by J-Hope. He managed to take me on a journey in my mind where I could just be in the moment. The tone and cadence of his rapping throughout the song just feels so real and honest - I don't know how else to describe it. My take on the song is that the overall feel of the song is not too happy and in your face. It feels like J-Hope reminisces on the reality of knowing he has good things in life but still not being satisfied. He made me realise that my daily life could be somone else's dream. Becuase as humans we will awlays want for something more or out of our reach but instead of seeing it as a bad thing, that's how we can continue look forward and hope for better days.
I guess J-Hope's dad is a Professor of Literature, so he's no doubt been exposed to a lot of books and culture.

Fyi, JHope's father is a literature teacher. JHope often references books etc. ... This MV makes me think of rhe expression 'living in a fish bowl' where nothing you do is hidden. He seems to wish he had a break from that sometimes, even though he fully understands and is happy with the kpop life choice he made.

"My character is half and half" is one of my favorite lines in a song ever.
Sad reality: as a K-pop idol, he isn't really free to go off the rails or live carelessly or even to flirt and date openly (esp when you're as big as BTS). When he says, "So what, I get drunk" he's not saying he actually gets drunk (in public) - it's that he sometimes wishes he Could just go out and forget everything... but no, living without public scrutiny is just a daydream.
The line "let me give it a try" sounds so earnest but sarcastic, it hits me every time because he's just listing a whole bunch of things he can't really do as 'J-Hope of BTS'. Brilliant meaning, song and execution.
