@@simplywhitby5356 wow, I won’t be visiting then 🤣 I cant blame them for charging it, I blame the idiots for paying that amount 🤣No wonder the couple did a runner from the other place 🤣
We came up from Hayling Island this week, was hoping to see you but we went, on your recommendation to Fish Cottage at Sandsend, was a lovely experience and the cod & chips were out of this world, however, I forgot the curry sauce which Mrs M enjoyed very much. Keep up the good work x
@@normagreenfield8347 me and my other half went to the Fish Cottage at Sandsend after Simon's and Mrs M recommendation and like you the fish and chips were great, you missed out on the lovely curry sauce
Great vlog again guys ….you are a stunning beautiful couple ,makes me want to live in Whitby every time I watch you both ….so jealous…take care both ,ps that food looked spot on ….only thing you didn’t do was show the bill …the amount of times we’ve past and not gone in …
omg never laugh has much for long time it's so easy to see when wine kicks in it's like watching me and my husband carol and Simon love you guys so funny 😂❤
Aw, love the Marine for a treat! If I have folks visiting who want chippy dinner it has to be Angel Fisheries Harbourside, but if we're going posh we head straight to the Marine. Lovely staff, nice atmosphere, gorgeous location, and amaaazing food! Mmm...
Mrs M being a movie star - "Are we actually rolling ?" I love it ! And Simon being a sommelier. Spaghetti vongole. One of my favorites in good old Sydney. This looks like a seriously good restaurant, Mr & Mrs M. Great to catch up with you both. Beautiful day in Whitby. Thank you for the video !
I reckon about 2010? Loved an evening meal, seabass and I concur was utterly delightful. Was still a little pricey in the evenings for seafood way back in 2010. New Zealand Malborough Savingon Blanc my Mum's favourite. Always ask permission to leave the table, big one in our house.
I remember when The Marine was a good old fashioned cafe which was usually packed used by all including local fishermen, sadly Whitby seems to have lost all these places in favour of rip off up market places which sadly are out of range for some people.
The last time I was in there it cost an arm and a leg but agree the food was lovely so worth it for a special one. Mind you I'd swerve the smelly toe cheese (blue cheese) yuk. 😂
The meals looked delicious but the leftover spaghetti garlic olive oil sauce needed mopping up with some bread ! Why so expensive though ? And yes, all the table manners you mentioned were taught by our mothers and grandmothers. The fish and chip price I reckon to be around ten years ago maybe ? Finally, now I know you’re loaded ! Centre Parcs several times a year, it costs a fortune to go only once. Can’t go anymore, I have too many grandchildren ! Also, I despise the fact that they hike the prices up tremendously during school holidays, is a disgrace and should be stopped. Sorry, rant over ! Thanks for the review ❤
Hiya both, The divine Mrs M is a tadge confused. Asking if you were rolling, when she found herself sitting still and the room not cartwheeling around her 😂🍾🍷🍹🍸🥂hic. Sir Simon, Mrs M plate would look so much better without using the sauce /gravy boat as a plate filler. Both meals looked top notch. Could not eat Pasta with out some fresh Parmesan grated over. Again, over crowded plate, why not use a platter 🤔? Wind swept and interesting ending. Brilliant video Tally ho🦊🐎🐕🦺Allan&Family
I would say 12 years ago for the £5.99 fish and chips. Samphire is actually pronounced Samfer, I grew up eating Samfer in Kings Lynn, Norfolk. We had a man with a horse and trailer going down the streets and I would be sent out with a bowl and some money to get it.
Undignified for a woman of your age.... What an absolute cheek........ If my husband said that to me I would have been dining alone and he would have been ramped at the local hospital. 🤣🤣🤣
Everything looks yummy 😋 But I wouldn't pay £40 for a bottle of wine! 😳 but I'm not much of a drinker anyway. I much prefer Mrs M's to the pasta if I'm honest... and I think you might've thought the same as well 🤣🤣🤣
Simon. Did you ever see my late brother-in-law who played guitar. at the Ship and other venues. He was tall, thin and long hair and glasses. We buried him 5Jan near Penny Hedge
Sometimes it's nice to treat yourself, and there was a lot of food there er & drink. We went to Spoons in Leeds on Saturday to economise, l think baked potato, tuna & a pint of Leffe was about £25 for the 2 of us. But then we prob spent £100 boozing before going home.....😁
Hey Simon That meal looked to die for. £123 quid is a bit pricey, but your money well spent as the portion size and quality was second to none. I have not tried the Marine Hotel, but Me & Mrs k. will give it a go As that food ... Wow !! Mrs M looking ❤ly as usual 😍 . Hope ,if I'm lucky ?..To see you both in Late October, because you're both such a ❤ly couple. Thank you for sharing ,guys 👍 Chin,Chin 🫡
Interested in your meal at the Marine. Went there 2 years ago. Atmosphere was poor, like a low grade pub. Charged £35 for a mediocre steak. Must have changed a lot since! Pleased you and Mrs M enjoyed your meal. We’ll be back in Whitby for the Goth weekend but will give the Marine a miss.
Lol Mrs M is a "steak" girl ..if you want a laugh ring the "Ryther Arms" steak restaurant at Tadcaster and listen to their automated voicemail.. cows mooing so funny 😅😅

You have picked a lovely wine from New Zealand. Can you get Mt Difficulty in the UK or Roaring Meg.. Love from Auckland, New Zealand.
I visited both of those wineries when we visited Queenstown 10 years ago. Absolutely superb. You can get them in the UK from specialist wine shops.
We used to go for fish and chip, when we used to stay at Whitby Holiday Park
I love spaghetti, but that steak without the salad gets my vote lol
Enjoy both 😊
