    The whole presence is different than typical television with a play like this. The sound and lighting is way more intimate.

    not to be confused with the original film which was in Yiddish and set on location in Poland in 1938

      This is a translation of the original Yiddish play upon which the Polish film was itself based. The film changes the plot a bit, but this story came first. Of course the dybbuk tale is probably as old as Yiddish itself.
