👍🏻 maybe look into metal protectors for chains on steel. I haul them shits everyday and you did perfect. You said only 2nd time but looked like everyday thing for you.
Thanks man. I’m a new flatbed driver. I got my first skidded coil and never did it in training. Watch a lot of videos. Your the only one who seem to explain it real good. Thanks
Im coming up on 3 yrs in flatbed and just came for a refresher on eye to the sky coils. Brother, Ive watched your securement vids since before I even got into this craft and theyve helped me more than you know! No sense in pointing anything out as youve long perfected the art of skateboarding since this vid released 😅. Much respect Choice 😎
I’m glad you said what you said. Many comment on my older videos without knowing the entire premise to my channel is to show my growth. That said, there are things I can point out in my older vids like I’m sure anyone else who knows better could. However today, I’d be happy to take any challenges against my securement. Either way, and even in my beginnings, I did alright. To be self-taught out here and learning along the way, I’ve never had… A load claim. A load shift. A lost load. Or an accident. Thank God.
Thanks bro. I pickup a load of these Monday. I’m a self trained flatbedder thanks to your videos and a few other good men on TH-cam sharing the craft. You are appreciated!
I start school in a little over 2 weeks and I am taking all the tips I can get. Thank you for being so damn cool brutha. I was a knuckle head and let my medical card expire so I have to go through the whole process all over again. But im going flat bed this time. no lounging around for me. I have already lost 55 pounds just to be ready for this job. I am going to loose a ton more doing this job. Again thanks a ton for all the tips man.
Nice job thanks for sharing all the details. I just learned a lot by watching this. You make it look easy. Until next time take care stay safe on the road. And always God Bless.
I had noticed that whenever I tightened chains before straps, I always had to go back and re-tighten the chains. Which always felt like extra work especially what with snapping bear trap binders. Definitely prefer straps over chains any day, but the laws are the laws definitely when it comes to various steel loads.
I just wanted to let you know that I like your video's but I would like to say that I wouldn't put the straps on first taking a chance of the chains cutting the straps in half but u can always put straps over your chains but if it works for you always be careful and be safe safe travels
By by any means I was not trying to be disrespectful to u or your content I'm a flatbeder as well and love watching your much love to you my man 💪🏿 and as always u r 💯
Good damn video , few questions .. you don’t do alternate pull with the straps ? I’m here at Melton and it’s required. No bulkhead ? Your tarp doesn’t look heavy either , what kind is it ?
Just was asking brother trying to learning different ways n stuff.i seen you x chains but always was told on a hard break thats not going to stop it cause its spread so far apart..just course be safe
Detroit diesel no offense taken Detroit. You should know that. If they were straps I’d say that wouldn’t hold the hard brake. I keep a pretty significant distance between me and other vehicles as well to prevent hard brakes. Hope all is good with you and the fam.
Yes, I prefer felt padding instead for coils though. Sometimes the shipper won’t allow it. But felt is my preference. I don’t carry coils anymore though. I pretty much stay away from those.
Great videos bro. Love the close ups. I've been using your techniques for everything and I've improved so much since the first time I asked for your help (: Thank you so much for that. Btw, I have a problem with the tarp sometimes since it's not fully vinyl when I try to fold it underneath it keeps falling down become I can secure it, but when you fold it, it stays underneath and it looks all even and doesnt come out. Any advice?
I’m working with parachute tarps right now so I know the problem your having. It’s gonna fall regardless. It’s the way you use the bungees and how many you use to stop it from falling out. My next vid is a parachute tarp. I’ll be posting it soon. Check it out bro! And thanks for the support!
Video just saved me. First time having to haul these and figured I check TH-cam. You come in clutch man.
There he is. 👊💯🙏🏼
Just hauled these for the first time.. guy showed me how with x cross with straps.. 500 mile run with no problem
That how you do it. Keep up the GOOD work! Peace brother and thank you for any and all positive support. God bless! 🙏🏼💯

Appreciate the video man . I'm training with tmc. So its an a chain on the front. But you helped me learn straps and tarps a bit better . Thank you .
Yes I have an A Chain video. Keep up the good work and good luck. Drive safe out there.
Love the beats!
There’s another one. Enjoyed the video. 💯👍
EXELENT CHOICE 😎👍🏼

Safety first 👍 great video
great video
Thank you, great video
Keep showing them bruh
Very nice sir.... Flatbed gang 💯
Good damn video , few questions .. you don’t do alternate pull with the straps ? I’m here at Melton and it’s required. No bulkhead ? Your tarp doesn’t look heavy either , what kind is it ?
Unfortunately we can't use blankets at Melton unless you want to risk losing them during a repower. Wish we each had our own trailers.
How long you been out here? You like it over there at Melton and that 3 tarp system?
I approve of this video 🤣🤣
Thank you, sir.
Great videos brother! Question. What type of tarp is that your using. Size?
In this video I’m using 4 foot drop steel tarps. 27 ft long with the flaps. Hope that helps.
@@choicemas Much appreciated brother.
Ya Metal protectors for sure them plastic don't do much..i notice you dont do n A- chain for forward movement on your front set?
That’s a TMC mandatory. If you see how my cross chains were set up on the front coil, they were preventing any forward movement.
Just was asking brother trying to learning different ways n stuff.i seen you x chains but always was told on a hard break thats not going to stop it cause its spread so far apart..just course be safe

👊🏿
I had 4 stacks of 3 and had to use 2 tarps of a 3 piece set , complete pita lol, one wouldn't cover up the entire thing
Lol, I can imagine. I’m staying away from anything that says tarps on the load boards! 🤣
Choice.. do you use corners when you put chains on steel coils??
Yes, I prefer felt padding instead for coils though. Sometimes the shipper won’t allow it. But felt is my preference. I don’t carry coils anymore though. I pretty much stay away from those.
Now that's a cat walk ,to bad they don't make a hydraulic air rachet to tighten those chains man ,look like that can through your shoulder out of wack
Metal edge protectors go with chains, plastic goes with straps. Your chains are gonna destroy those plastic edge protectors.
Thanks for pointing that out. We learn from our mistakes.

@@choicemas I'm forced to use all my bungies, over 50 just to keep the tarp not flapping around lol
Isn’t it that belly loading
Yes, beyond loading is when the load is in the middle of the flatbed, from my understanding. I could be wrong.
