    Today we are doing some walleye fishing in northern Wisconsin and the bite is ON! In this video we are trolling with spinner rigs and night crawlers for some BIG inland walleyes. This is a pattern that happens on many lakes across the midwest in the late summer timeframe. Often times when the bite on structure gets tough, walleye fishing out over the basin can be the best with to catch a ton of quality fish. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more content!

    If you made a t-shirt of a silhouette of you with a bent over rod that says "might be a bass, idk", I'll buy it FOR SURE 🤣

    I appreciate you talking about catch and release. With over 40 years of walleye fishing I have discovered my wife and I can eat really well on a 18-19 inch walleye. No need to have a freezer full of fish that many times don’t ever get to the dinner table! Not to mention I don’t have to take a limit of fish to the cleaning station to feel like I’m a good fisherman.

    Please keep harping on catch and release you are 100% correct at the amount of pressure the last 2 years and the lagging nature of DNR regulation. I’m seeing first hand multiple fisheries being exploited that I love.

    I feel your pain with people moving in on your area that you're fishing. It definitely gets tough some days on our favorite lakes, but you demonstrated how to make the day a success! Super awesome video Tom.

    • @reidsimonson
      @reidsimonson 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its tough though. How do you know Tom didnt move in on them? How do you know that wasn't their spot from before? Also Tom doesn't own the lake and some of those spots could have been know about long before he was even born or fishing those lakes. TH-camrs and guides are the worse for fishing. They are fishing for profit and care little for those out there fishing for leisure, fun, and food.

    It’s hard tho because most of us walleye fish for dinners. Having a limited time on the water for some of us, it’s nice to have a freezer full when 70 to 80% of the diet is fish.

    Thanks for the video tom your a great teacher. I've learned a ton from your videos. I appreciate your conservation mentality and your right the dnr is often a few years behind. It is really the fisherman's job protect a fishery. I am concerned about something and I would like to get your response. If you feel your walleye population is struggling should you be fishing in that deep of water? My research shows walleye suffer mortality far to often when caught from those depths. Fish biologists suggest you should avoid targeting walleye bass perch and crappie in depths over 25'.

    Great video... thanks ever make it to Wyoming? We have a few lakes/reservoirs that produce nice walleye's nothing like the hogs you catch Tom... Great info on presentation and technic, I am looking forward to trying all what I've seen in your video's... warm regards to you and the Shellster...

    You do realize most of us hardly ever limit or catch more than a few legals an outing. And that’s for only 10-20 weekends we actually get to fish. Unless I’m on Erie - then I’m an expert.

    • @TheDruxlol
      @TheDruxlol 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      regardless the point reigns true, there are not enough fish to support the amount being harvested. There are 5 times more boats on the water right now than 6-7 years ago EASILY.
