    Urgent question. My digitizer broke. When I wanted to replace it the fixers in my country said it cannot be replaced alone. The whole lcd should be bought with a difitizet. I found all websites sell them separated. So if my lcd is fine why should I change the whole thing?

    • @TechGuruGR
      @TechGuruGR  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      the separation of the digitizer which is glued to the lcd is a risky process for the screen and demands experience. Also a downside of this process is that the digitizers sold are not genuine. Samsung manufactures only the whole lcd assembly,the digis are from third party manufacturers.

    After the glue removal, what are you using to clean the screen? I tried isopropyl alcohol, but it is still sticking do I have to continue?

      you need a liquid that has isopropyl and some kind of petrol maybe. i use morris contact cleaner

    I've noticed that you didn't reapply loca glue to the lcd. Is the screen clarity still the same or is it slightly less clear? I'm planning to replace mine just the digitizer too but i'm wondering if i should reapply loca glue to it

    • @TechGuruGR
      @TechGuruGR  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      dont reapply loca to lcd screen. the loca will 99% go under the backlight and destroy your screen. this is a much faster and safer way to do it.but the truth is that it is not so clear like the original fused one but its ok. you get a very nice result

  • @corollayanki4832

    Are all Samsung tab 10.1 lcds fused together with loca glue? I like separate lcd and glasd. Cleaning the dust out sucks, but glass is cheap!

    • @TechGuruGR
      @TechGuruGR  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      from the old ones 10.1, only t520 and p600 are fused.

    why you did not use uv loca glue for lcd?to do as was from fuctory?

    • @TechGuruGR
      @TechGuruGR  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Using loca on lcd screens with backlight, has the danger of leaving "cloudy spots" behind the picture if not VERY careful while applying, and it is also more expensive and time consuming to do it that way. The result is almost the same without applying loca if done nicely. Also, if the glass breaks again, you don't have to separate it again ;)

    I found what I was looking for in this video.
    but I broke the lcd while trying to separate the lcd from the screen :( The screen was already broken. I only need this screen and the black part. the thing under the black part was not damaged. My question is, is there somewhere where I can only get the black part and touchscreen.
    My second question is: the model I use is sm-p602. I wonder if I use the lcd part of another model will it work?

    • @TechGuruGR
      @TechGuruGR  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      p600 series, p602 and p605 have the exact same lcd and digitizer, it does not matter which one you put, they will all work. FYI, T520 has the same digitizer with the p600 series. the whole screen is consisted of the lcd screen and the digitizer which is a touch film integrated on a glass which has the color on the perimeter. you can buy the digitizer to put on a working lcd or you can buy the whole assembly glued together(lcd+digitizer). keep in mind that all digitizers on the market are compatible screens. there is not original samsung digitizer only in the market

    • @TechGuruGR

      you can use foam or silicon tape which is 1mm thick and >3mm width. you can also use some kind of rubber glue in some spots to make it more solid.

    Any idea or tutorial video about replacing 3g/4g module?

    • @TechGuruGR
      @TechGuruGR  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      it is exactly the same procedure

    • @dodosmazda6
      @dodosmazda6 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tech Guru yes but where is the 4g module and how to disassemble it from the main board?

    • @TechGuruGR
      @TechGuruGR  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      the 4g ic module is embedded on the board, the sim socket is just a flex which would be taken off very easily, although there is no actual reason to even take it off since the flex parts are not vulnerable to the whole process.

    • @dodosmazda6
      @dodosmazda6 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Please don't teach people to repair like this. YOU MUST DISCONNECT THE BATTERY BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE. If this is not done you can short out the LCD, Motherboard, or a number of other components when you are disconnecting them without power flushing. I am a certified Samsung Engineer, and also lead three repair centers worth of certified techs, so I kinda know a little about this..

    • @corollayanki4832
      @corollayanki4832 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Backlight fuse could blow if battery isn't connected. That's what happens on ipads anyways.

    Dammit, I dropped my tablet and it absolutely obliterated the glass... This looks a lot harder than I was hoping for, I don't have any experience, but I'm pretty good at fixing stuff, I think it's worth a shot since a new digitizer is only $16 before going out to buy a whole new lcd assembly.. oof. What kind of string did you use to separate the screen and digitizer? Also, would it be possible to use only a heat gun to heat up the loca glue enough to separate the digitizer and lcd? I don't have a heating pad and I really want to try and keep the cost as low as possible for this repair, but I already have a heat gun... I guess the biggest challenge would be to not overheat the lcd, and also to separate it without damaging it. Ugh Samsung, why did you have to make it so hard to repair?! 😞

  • @vascomarques7307
    @vascomarques7307 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think its a bad idea split digitizer from lcd with a string. You can avoid fill up the entire lcd with glue. You can try to split with creditcards like only. Have a good work.

    • @TechGuruGR
      @TechGuruGR  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      the string is the most safe method since it is really thin, comparing to cards. cards may break the lcd if pushed a little bit more than expected. Also the glue is solid, so there is no danger for the lcd during the separation, it just needs few more time to clean. :)

    I think using heat gun on AMOLED screen is very bad!

    • @TechGuruGR
      @TechGuruGR  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It could be really dangerous if not done by well experienced person. It needs a good balance between temperature-air flow-distance from device and time of exposure. You learn this by experience, there is no specific way of doing it, but surely this operation must be done by persons who have tried this kind of job in the past. The secret is mainly the time of exposure. No more than 3-4 seconds blowing on the exact same spot or else the pixels will burn.

    • @corollayanki4832
      @corollayanki4832 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've had luck using heatpads around 75° F. This was on fused oca ipad lcd/digitizers. I never did an AMOLED though.

    • @corollayanki4832
      @corollayanki4832 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would've burned that lcd with a heatgun. I'm not that good yet!
