    I read this in a news report: If the owner registered the device with the FAA - which is legally required for recreational drones between .55 and 55 pounds - it can be traced back to the owner, sources said.

    Always nice to book a win in such a swingy game. From the way you described the hands in that game, it sounded a LOT better than the NLHE choices at the time. Nice moves hopping from table to table until you found a game that worked!

  • @coldnate
    @coldnate 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    This is, by far, my favorite game at Commerce. I would bet a lot of money that you can get the biggest edge in that game. Tons of action, tons of swings, but seriously the deepest, worst players in LA frequent that game. It used to be only a $1k max, and there would often be over $25k on the table. Sick, sick game

    • @AndrewNeeme
      @AndrewNeeme  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How often you in there? Being card dead for hours is pretty frustrating in that game/at that place, but now that I've rested up I kinda want to hop back in.

    • @coldnate
      @coldnate 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not often at all anymore. I live 2+ hours away now. I would definitely going back tomorrow night if I were you... the Fri/Sat crowd was always spewing value a couple years ago. I can't imagine why it would be any different - tons of new money, entertainment industry people, sales degens, etc... Most of the 5/10NL players are grinders/semi-grinders at Commerce - those games are almost never great. I would imagine the worst tables of PLO are better than an above average 5/10NL table. My favorite 5/10NL in LA is the Bike during tourney series'. It's only like 10min away from Commerce - if they have 5/10NL running, and you really want to play NLHE, I'd check them out first. Usually they only have a 5/5 game(1k max though), but even that is usually better than the 5/10's at Commerce.

    • @coldnate
      @coldnate 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      JonBenait06 He's a big boy. He can make his own decisions. Everyone knows the variance is higher in PLO. Just trying to provide info from my exp. He can evaluate and decide if the variance is worth the possible gained edge

  • @patters2037
    @patters2037 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    I think you misplayed the hand Q10108 hand at 5:03. You should definitely be betting the AQ5r flop. Having a Q you block AQ and QQ and AA is less likely with no 3 bet pre flop. The only real draw that can continue i the KJ10 wrap which you also heavily block having two 10s. Just a couple of PLO concepts to think about.

    • @PapaCharlie9
      @PapaCharlie9 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I see your point. Andrew's hand is kind of under repped, so something like KcXc or 9c8c could fire full pot on the turn as a semi-bluff, and those hands would probably fold to a cbet on the flop. A hand like A5 in the blinds probably would not x/r that flop. I would have played it the same as Andrew, but I think you convinced me that might be a mistake.

    • @farenheight999
      @farenheight999 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Patters the way he played it his Also fine but i thinks it's a call on the river. a pot bet on the turn probably represent A-X, A-10, A-Q, A-5, 5-5 ...Like you said, A-A had probably raise preflop, you block Q-Q and K-J had probably try to trap on the turn ... in m'y opinion its an easy call on the river with this little bet

    • @PapaCharlie9
      @PapaCharlie9 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      "in m'y opinion its an easy call on the river with this little bet" -- I don't think middle set is ever an easy call on the river in PLO. It's a wawb river situation, busted draw with some thin value/two-pair, or the nuts.

    • @farenheight999
      @farenheight999 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did'nt say it's always an easy call, i just say in this hand, calling 115$ on the turn and folding to 175$ on the river's brick make non sens for me. If he had K-J and he've Been called the pot on the Turn by two opponent... why just bet 175$ on the river and lost some value ?

    • @davidcastleberry1720
      @davidcastleberry1720 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sebastien David you can lose value easier by over betting the river.

Very short and you don't give much speculation on other things like those wannabe experts on youtube. You sound like a great card player. I can feel the calming strength in your voice. Hope I don't run into you in a heads up pot with you!!

    Andrew,
    Loving the new drone shots. I have a small cheap one that I'm laboring to become proficient flying; can't imagine controlling it properly at the heights you fly yours. As for that last hand, since you said he studied his hand a good bit before throwing it in, I suspect it was some sort of a middle wrap type hand, or maybe a middle pair with some other card denominations that almost made a straight with the 9 and 6. Maybe, just a guess.
    Interesting that you opted to avoid the 5-10NL. Was it worse than the average mid-week game you find on the strip? If yes, I wonder if this is A- typical, because the common perception is the mid stakes games are a little softer here in LA.
    I found it interesting your thoughts on having a bigger edge at NL. Even though you are better at NL, is it possible you still have a bigger edge PLO, because the comparative skill is less at PLO than NL? I have heard pros such as Tom Dwan say that about the two games. Lastly, curious if you think the future of poker, even live poker, is PLO, given how much better NL players are getting at all levels?

    • @AndrewNeeme
      @AndrewNeeme  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd say the NL game I was in was comparable to a midweek strip game. Which is pretty terrible by LA standards imo. Yes the comparative skill could be less in PLO, but it just always depends on the lineup. I think the future of poker will he some combination of PLO games and tweaks to NL games. Full ring ante-less NL is so boring sometimes.

    Hey Andrew, you mentioned the 5-10 NL game at Commerce seemed so-so. I wonder if that's because Commerce sometimes have up to 5 to 6 5-10 NL games going at once. Even on weekends I found most of there 5-10 NL games seemed overly tight and slow moving. Where as the Hawaiian Gardens 5-10 NL and even the 10-20 NL game is full of action. Same could be said about the games at the Bike and the new Hollywood Park Casino.

    Hey Andrew love the videos keep it up. Have a question for you would appreciate if you could give an opinion :p
    Just a game of 1/2 but it's been annoying me, I had AcJs, popped it to ten pre, two callers and I'm last to act. flop comes 974 all clubs. First to act bets 40, other guy calls, I do too (was this the right option with 2 over and the draw?) Turn comes a blank, first guy shoves 145, other calls, I tank for a bit.. other guy still has 60ish behind so I'd win that. I end up calling and the river misses. I'm guessing I was in the wrong calling the turn bet considering at least one had a flush, 3 clubs on the board and one in my hand, so only 7 clubs left if the other player had none.

      What preflop position were you and the callers? It matters for assigning ranges. I'll assume they were in the blinds and you were mid to late. You're big decision is on the flop. If you think it's going to go bet/call on every street in front of you and you're willing to stack off against that line, you should be even more willing to shove the flop. That might buy you some fold equity against made hands other than flushes, at the cost of folding out Kc-Qc type one-card flush draws that you dominate. If you aren't willing to stack off against a bet/call line if you miss the turn, best to just fold the flop. If this were hu against the donker, it would be an easy fold on the flop, but that guy in the middle calling is what complicates things, since it offers you correct odds to see the turn. I could see floating one to try and realize your equity against made flushes, Kc-Qc type draws, or against someone getting stubborn with two-pair or a set. But as things turned out, I'd fold the turn.

    • @Tremblification
      @Tremblification 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      PapaCharlie9 PapaCharlie9 I believe I was cutoff, the player who shoved was small, and the other player was mp1. Yeah I agree with you about getting out of it on the turn, definitely would've minimized loss there. And the player to the right of me indeed have KcQc, other player didn't show but I believe he had a set. Thanks for your thoughts
