    Honestly I would like to see more of these bikes. I don't mind the super cool ,super aero, super light,and super expensive bikes. But the truth is that the entry level bikes have to be good so that people that are starting out continue to upgrade and love cycling. If bike companies don't focus on entry level bikes than they are just letting customers down and other companies the opportunity to provide a product to consumers at a lower price or similar spec.

    • @Smogytho
      @Smogytho 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you think the triban rc500 is a good entry level

    • @dustinflores2469
      @dustinflores2469 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Smogytho yes, but perhaps the first thing you'll need to replace is the braking system. It's a mechanical single pivot disc brake, while better than rim brakes of the similar price range, they'll wear after or even before 2000 KM (depends if your area is hilly, in my place it's very hilly here) and start noticing overheating marks on the disc rotors. You can get yourself pads and rotor replacement in Decathlon or look for aftermarket hybrid systems like Juin Tech F1

    Great video, well done for covering bikes that are affordable. Always a Giant for me. Keep up the great work 👍

    I like how specialized continue to explore and improve aluminum. Do wish they do the same with the fork. I prefer a metal fork over a carbon that is on the cheap side. Personally, I'd rather have a well engineered (if there is such thing) steel frame and fork with titanium in mind if looking to upgrade.

    I remember last year when they were clearing out the Claris Giant Contend's for as little as £399 end of season that was a bargain. Sub 10kg weight, exceptionally well made and Claris is a very decent reliable groupset. They'd fitted the bike with 700x28 tyres and a wide 11-34T cassette. Giant always deliver exceptional value anyway as they are an actual manufacturer not just a brand that swops between factories to import from and they have a very generous lifetime warranty on the frame and forks plus very high weight limits plus of course you can get that with the local support of your bike shop if a Giant dealer. The logistics of a manufacturer selling directly to a bike shop probably isn't that worse from a brand that has to buy from a factory and sells directly. Either is going to be able to beat prices of brands that import from factories and then sell that imported product to a local bike shops because that has 3 parties who all need a profit not 2. In value terms I'd always put Giant at the top because there is a lot of value in having local dealer support while the bike is in warranty especially for more complex and high end bikes like ebikes.

    Purchased an allez for my birthday back in ‘21, and rode it for a few months before hitting rough times and taking a break. I’m excited to get back on the saddle though! For the price increase to $1k, it’s still a damn good bike, and an investment that’ll see me through many many years. Definitely can’t wait to get shoes to match the clipless pedals I have laying around.

    This is a good idea for a video and I like that you chose a genuinely affordable price range. Even for a lot of us who would spend more on a bike, we might want to purchase a bike for a wife/husband/boyfriend/girlfriend/child and it doesn't make sense to spend a lot more than this for an intro bike.

    I bought a new Giant TCR SLR ALUXX bike with full Shimano 105 r7000 for £920 and am very happy indeed 😁 I added a pair of Hunt Aero wheels so with pedals, cages and wahoo bolt it’s just over 8kgs! It is really smooth and responsive..I can easily hold my own with mates on very very expensive bikes 😁
