This is Onyx and Pip's adoption, we're so happy to give them their forever home! Hope you enjoy coming along on the journey! (There is some graphic content that some may find disturbing.)
To find them safe amazing homes is fantastic. Onyx looks that she is in with a sweetie. It is a long journey to give them this forever home but it shows there are good, wonderful people out there. Thank you Save a Fox x 🙂🦊💚
@Ghost of sly the fox to "put down" or plainly, to kill, usually and hopefully in a humane way due to medical reasons because the animal cannot be saved medically.
People who drive please keep a stick of some sort so if you come across road kill you can move it off the road and prevent more animals being hit by vehicles
Drives all day and all night to hand off two adoptees, stops on the way to rescue an opossum, stays overnight to make sure the adoption goes well, stops on the way home to help a family with food... You can't let Ethan out for long, or he's gonna solve all the world's problems. A true inspiration!
It's so terrible seeing that opossum in the road. It's lucky you were there to help her and her baby, even if you could only save one of the babies. Rest in peace, possums. ❤
I turned my phone away and only listened to the audio during that part. I was surprised to hear about a gun...😯 which totally scares me. But i really hope that the only little survivor makes it and has a full and healthy life. 🙏 And Ethan did a really good samaritan deed.❤️❤️❤️
You can even tell that the poor guy was crying a bit especially the part where he had to shoot the poor mother. But it was the only way for the Mother to Rest In Peace ♥️
How did he help het ? HE SHOT HER ! Hasty decision. He should have tried to take her to the wildlife rehaber who was only 45 min away. Wrong reaction imho.
THIS is the real reason these guys are saints. anyone can play and love foxes, anyone can give them watermelons and eggs and listen to them laugh, but not many can make the tough choices like they do and deal with the loss. ethans cool head i bet comes in handy in stressful situations for sure
The amount of emotional strength it takes an empath to put a suffering animal out of its misery is immense and I really appreciate and respect you for ending the pain of that poor mama opossum
Thank you for putting the possum out of her misery. I know it couldn't have been easy but it was absolutely the right call. Hope the baby possum is doing well.
Yeah its clear she had major brain damage and was not going to make it. Its good he helped end her suffering then to sit there on the road waiting to die.
Thank you, for taking care of the mother opossum and putting her out of her misery. I wish more people could be as responsible. Hope the little opossum does well. They are wonderful. They eat ticks. I was diagnosed with Lyme 4 years ago and I am very grateful for them and the jobs they do.
My husband rescued several baby opossums several years ago when he saw them on the road. He brought them home and we fostered them for a couple of days until I could get in touch with the wildlife rescue and turn them over to them. Bless Ethan for his beautiful heart.
Thank you so much Ethan! When I saw how bad momma possum was, I was relieved that you were able to help her out of her pain. It's never easy to do it but letting animals suffer is horrible.
What about that person who hit the poor possum, he/she just left the possums on the road, to die.......😥 I'm so glad Ethan found them and did the right thing! Thank you Ethan! 🙏🙏🙏
Ethan, you have such a kind and generous heart. The fact that you stopped for a possum for a rescue mission brought tears to my eyes. ps. Hope Onxy got to keep the cupcake plushies.
An absolute heartbreaking scene, but a true redemption of humans in my eyes. You two are incredible representatives for our species. Seeing Mom struggling to stay alive to protect her babies just tore me up. I had a friend who fostered opossum babies found alongside SoCal freeways. They can be mean little cusses, but it's usually out of fear and defense. Wish others were as caring and loving to our companions in the world as you are. Thank you, I can live this day with a bit of pride and faith in humankind restored.
Ethan, your delay in leaving was destiny guiding your hand. You were meant to find and save that opossum’s baby and help ease Mama’s suffering. How many other people were on their way to a wildlife rehabber? The odds are astronomical - like you just won the powerball and mega millions at the same time! Bless you for that! Also thanks for the laugh referring to the truck hauling logs! Every time I pass one of those trucks I’m the same way - Final Destination!😂😂😂 Thank you and Mikayla for all the wonderful things you do, lives you save, and for sharing your world with us!
Ethan, you have such a good heart for saving the baby possum and taking care of the poor mother and babies that didn't make it. I hope Onyx and Clive live happily together! Pip is so cute, I hope she is happy as well! Ethan you are awesome! Get some rest, you deserve it!!!❤️🦊
I recognized the Mackinaw Bridge before he even said. Mackinaw Island is so neat. So is Isle Royale--it's super wild. I'm glad one of the possums was able to be saved. Mama Possum would be so grateful if she knew.
I know it's been said many times and in many ways, but the love you both have for animals is just extraordinary. It's sad that not very many people would actually stop to rescue an injured possum family. The world needs more people like you.
Ethan you are so amazing! Helping the ‘possums and the people at McDonalds. Wish more people were like you and Mikayla in this world! Would be such a nicer place.
Felt bad for the opossums...u saved one that's awesome...Good Luck Pip, Onyx, and baby opossum...love.Thank u Ethan...hope u rested....Have to say there is nothing like your yard for the foxes.. God Bless
I'm from Michigan so it is cool that you guys had someone adopt Onyx and Pip. Also good that you rescued that baby opossum as well. You guys are great for what you do. Keep at it.
Ethan, thank you for your compassion towards that poor mom and her babies. People who run over animals that are right in the middle of the road are so evil. They saw them and didn't care. Thankfully you came along. You're a good person.
I am glad Ethan was prepared to end the mamma possom's suffering and save one of her babies. Not a bad idea that he is also prepared to protect himself.
Poor opossums but I feel so excited for Pip and especially Onix, She’s such a sweet approachable girl and I hope to see a video or pictures from when mikayla goes to visit her
Mikayla must be the ONLY one that has HUGE yards for the foxes to romp around in. All these other places are so small. I don't like the pens with all of the weeds in them either, it just makes the bugs worse.
I’ve been over that bridge more than once. Lived in MI for several decades. It’s quite a sight to see from the water, that’s for sure. Mackinaw Island is a great vacation spot. And the fudge that is made there is the best. The best! The movie Somewhere in Time was filmed there. The poor poor poor possum! It makes me feel so sad for mom had her three babies. I’m glad that one survived though. I’m sure that the baby will be fine. But 🥺😢. Fun to watch Pip get used to her new home. And then Onyx and Clive working things out. Great to see them finding a new home.
It’s so terrible seeing that opossum on the road and I’m glad you tried your best to help, Rest In Peace to the possums that didn’t survive I’m happy for Onyx and Pip! I wish a good life to them both
This was a good video, even with the sad psrt. I remember seeing a couple of dying possums on the road, as s kid travelling in east Texas. You did the right thing, Ethan. I'm glad the mother didn't suffer more, and one of her babies looks likely to live.
Hopefully Clive and Onyx will be friends. I didn´t expect Clive to be that active with only 3 legs. Creds to you Ethan for helping out baby possum and not letting the mom suffer anymore. I hope we can see more roadtrips like this in the future take care.
I guess you're also Save A Poss now. Reminds me of how one night, I was driving and I found a great horned owl standing on the road. Still alive, just standing still. Magnificent bird, perhaps fourteen inches tall. I put on the flashers, honked, didn't move. Got out and yelled, still didn't move. I thought about petting it, but I wanted to keep my full set of fingers, so I poked it with a snow-brush, and finally it flew off. Couldn't leave it just standing there, of course.
Thanks Ethan for stopping to save the baby possum and it's mom from further deadly pain. I hope the mother didn't have any other babies in her pouch because I learnt that from a vet from Hope for Paws YT video to check the mother's pouch for other babies, who are usually suckling deep within her pouch. Rest in Peach possum mom & babies.😢❤
Bye Onyx ! Bye Pip! I hope you have an exciting, amazing, comfortable, cozy new home! Your old fox friends will miss you I am sure, but ohh boy Onyx be nice to your new friend, don't boss him around too much hehe. We will miss seeing them ❤ That was SO awful and sad to see that mother possum hit in the road, struggling with everything in her, slowly failing, but still trying cause her pups... and all the little pups scattered all over the road dead except for 1 tiny fighter... ugh! My heart shattered! I won't be getting that out of my head for a while.. Good on you for staying calm in that situation, and putting her out of her misery. She was probably in so much pain and so scared. I would have been bawling my eyes out purely from being so dang upset that they were hurt in the first place. Also good on you for being able to rescue at least 1 of the babies...what a little warrior. Updates on that PLEASE!! It's so nice seeing Onyx as comfortable and curious as she seems to be about her new home, and the fact her new roommate and her seem to get along well enough. I am sure they will learn each other's boundaries hehe.
Kudos for stopping to help the opossum family and save that precious baby! Hope we can get updates on his progress in future vlogs. You and Mikayla are both exceptional human beings, Ethan!!!
It was so cool seeing Mikayla's other half at work. Picked a good one & I bet this trip made her proud! Also, wow, Mackinac bridge & island! Is this a Gone to the Snow Dogs/Save A Fox Recue transports cross over episode?! Probably the closest thing too it in reality. Only foxes & huskies can play together in my dreams, unfortunately. *sigh* Give our love to Dakota, where ever he's staying out of the reaches of the crazies. Hope he's living his best life.
I grew up near a mink farm. The owner would give presentations to local service clubs about raising minks. He said they had terrible dispositions and were, in his words, "mean".
@@unholyheretik One of his favorite anecdotes was the woman from one of the wives' auxiliary clubs who asked him how many times you could skin a mink. His alleged response was, "Just once, ma'am; just once".
I am glad Onxy and Pip's adoption went well!!! So sorry to see that poor Mom opossum and her babies. Luckily you were able to save one of the babies. Joan ❤
This is such a heartfelt video and at the right time for me to see. This happened recently with a wild turkey who got hit with a tractors bush hog. Luckily the eggs were intact and now we’re raising little baby turkeys.
Best of luck to Onyx and Clive in their new relationship. May they gave many happy years together. Perhaps Clive will even let Onyx drink his water someday. Pip seems pretty happy with his new enclosure. Hope the baby opossum thives. It has certainly had a rough start to its life and could easily have sustained injuries.

Great job Ethan!!! I'm glad Onyx has a new friend but I was kinda sad seeing Onyx leave as I know Mikayla was too. I hope Onyx & Pip will be truly happy in their new home. Thank you Ethan for rescuing the poor little guy on the road. It's really sad seeing the mother losing her babies & in the end losing her own life 😭. It’s not goodbye, it’s just see you later. I know it’s never easy but you’re both doing so much for these darlings. As for the possums, it broke my heart but you did all you could for them. Bless you.
This was a really great video. I hope the foxes are getting along by now. I would love to find out how that baby possum is doing, poor possums 🙁 Hopefully that baby will thrive.
You're a real life super hero, Ethan! Thank you for all that you do! My heart broke when I saw the opossums in the road like that. So incredibly sad. That sweet baby was so lucky that you were driving by and luckily on your way to a rehabber, of all places.
aww glad they have a happy new home.. ooh final destination lol same thing I was thinking when you were going by that log truck. mackinaw island is awesome. one of the last family trips i remember was all of us going up there it was like 17 people.
Clive runs pretty good for missing a leg! Onyx has a nice disposition, I hope she and Clive become friends and have a nice life there. It looks like a nice living area. (The possum part kinda ruined the video for me)
Mikayla you do great work with animals & saved so many lives keep it up, #Saveafox is a great charity & animal refuge. You should be proud of what you have achieved. 👍😜🙂🐾💕🦊
Thankyou for what you do. How can some people be so heartless, makes me ashamed to be human. Poor little creatures are just trying to survive like the rest of us.
That poor mother possum and her babies☹️☹️☹️. I’m glad this man had the fortitude to help the mother not to suffer anymore in the last minutes of her life, and that there was a miracle of one of her babies surviving.
Dang, Ethan, you're such a good soul. Heart of gold. I hope the little possum will make it. Even if not, you gave it love and care - and a chance to survive. Hopefully Onyx and Clive will get along :)
Bless your guy's s hearts. Both of you. I can't express how much we need more people like you in this world. Thank you for this one Eithan and what you did, couldn't have been easy. And as always thanks to Mikayla as well! 💕 Ps I live in Michigan and Mackinac island is deff a experience everyone needs to do. So fun.
Good job, mission more than accomplished! Watching from the UK and feel so sad for poor Mama Possum and her babies (what beautiful mothers they are), but very glad you came along and ended her suffering, and saved her one surviving baby. May he continue to thrive and live a happy life, in tribute to the family he lost. It doesn't bear thinking about how mother and son would also have died, slowly, in the cold and rain without your help. God bless you wonderful people and all you do for our animal cousins. You are truly doing heroic and very important work. If only more people had empathy for animals. It hurts my heart that someone drove too fast, hit a sweet mother and her defenceless babies, and just drove on, not lifting a finger to help them. They have brought a whole heap of nasty karma on themselves!
This is Onyx and Pip's adoption, we're so happy to give them their forever home! Hope you enjoy coming along on the journey!

How is it that someone could hit an animal and just drive away. No conscience. Thank you Ethan for your goodness of spirit and action.
A few animals.
Dark and rainy, very low visibility, not a very big animal. Based on the vehicle, might just not have noticed :/
It’s also possible they thought all had died. Possums play dead when facing danger and it may have genuinely seemed like none survived :(
Thank you, for taking care of the mother opossum and putting her out of her misery.
I wish more people could be as responsible.
Hope the little opossum does well. They are wonderful.

It’s not goodbye, it’s just see you later. I know it’s never easy but you’re both doing so much for these darlings. As for the possums, it broke my heart but you did all you could for them. Bless you.
You are such an awesome person Ethan 😀
Congrats on the adoption and thank you for being a caring wild life rescuer.
Darn, Ethan. You are a good human being! great work all around.
Dedication, hard work and love: you folks are simply the best folks! The critters are blessed to have you as you are with them!
That's such a hard thing to do, but you did the best thing you could, given the situation. Never stop loving animals!
Your a good man Ethan. You did the right thing. You gave them a good death. Heartbreaking.
👍😜🙂🐾💕🦊
It's great to see you driving throughout my home state of Michigan and witnessing Macinac Bridge. ^w^
Beautiful bridge for sure. And Mackinac Island is truly a great place.
Your kindness is so beautiful🌞Thank goodness the world contains souls like you.
You two are the best of humankind. Thank you for what you do.
Damn, Clive is fast for a tripod! He does seem to want to be friends with Onyx, well, until she drank his water.
loved this! I'm happy you helped take care of things and at least one of the babies was okay.
i could never do something like this it would absolutely break my heart to have to give one up for adoption and the fox looked so sad too
Love & admiration for what you both do! Amazing work!
Could not watch, but you two are absolutely angels 💖 doing what you do and caring for the innocent creatures God has blessed us with. Thankyou ❤
This really makes you appreciate how huge the fox yards are at SAF
Thankyou for what you do. How can some people be so heartless, makes me ashamed to be human. Poor little creatures are just trying to survive like the rest of us.
Are you saying someone hit them on purpose? Not likely.
Michigan??? I'd love to see Onyx!!
Hopefully Onyx and Clive will get along :)
what a good man u r ethan. well done. did right in the circumstance. blessings
ethan you are a real mensch! i love your energy, your sweetness with critters & dedication to all creatures. really enjoyed the captions too.
Thank you for rescue all these animals!
Bless your guy's s hearts. Both of you. I can't express how much we need more people like you in this world. Thank you for this one Eithan and what you did, couldn't have been easy. And as always thanks to Mikayla as well! 💕
Ps I live in Michigan and Mackinac island is deff a experience everyone needs to do. So fun.
What a GREAT video! Start to finish! Ethan, you’re a hero!
On saturday I were with foxes! I was feeding them, peting them and much more! It was really fun!
I have PTSD but your videos really helps me, keep doing good work guys
Ethan is so good with the animals. They trust him completely
Clive gets around pretty good for a tripod fox, even better than Firefly
Yeah, it doesn't seem to slow him down at all - I barely even noticed he _was_ a tripod!
