- Of all the flies we have used in our TV show over the past 20 years, none has generated as much interest as this streamer pattern "Scotty's McFly". This simple to tie fly is one of the most effective streamer patterns we have used for all types of trout, bass, pike, and even in saltwater! It ressembles shiners, shad, minnows and other types of baitfish. From Labrador to Wyoming, this is one fly you want to have a dozen of in your flybox!
In this video the creator, Scott Currie from flymart.ca, teaches us how to tie this deadly streamer. If you don't wish to tie the pattern, you can purchase them here: www.flymart.ca...
Very cool looking fly. Color combinations are endless. Thanks for posting!
Thanks Scott. I can vouch for this fly. I slew bass in Georgian/Mac Gregor Bay during bass opening week! (Ontario). Very effective - I caught a 4lb 6oz monster smallie on one of these.
Great pattern, thanks for doing this!
Fantastic tutorial 👍🎣
Good tying👍👍👍
Good looking fly. I’m going to tie some up.
Hi, Scott. This looks like a fantastic pattern for my fishing here in northwestern Wyoming. One question: your materials list shows "green" Veevus 6/0 thread. The Flymart website shows that thread in Pale Green and Fluorescent Green. Can you tell me which green I should buy (or does it matter?) Thanks - I love the look of this fly!
Do not think the colour of the thread (green) matters. I would personally use fluorescent
@@newflyfisher Got it. Thanks again.
