＜曲目解説＞
1993年、東京尺八合奏団委嘱初演。「いざない」とは「誘い」の意の雅語的表現です。曲は大きく分けて、序・急・緩・急の4つの部分から成り立っています。緩の部分に誘う尺八カデンツア、急の部分に誘う箏のカデンツアではソリストのすばらしさを、終焉へと高揚していく終結部ではアンサンブルの妙味を味わって頂ければ幸いです。私にとってこの曲は、4曲目の邦楽作品でしたが、和楽器にふれればふれるほど奥の深さを痛感し、独特の雰囲気に魅せられてまいりました。和楽器の持つ魅惑的な世界に、皆様をいざなうことができれば・・・との思いから、この題名をつけました。
＜Commentary on the song＞
In 1993, premiered by the Tokyo Shakuhachi Ensemble. "Izanai" is a graceful expression of "invitation." The song is roughly divided into four parts: introductory, sudden, slow, and sudden. We hope that you will enjoy the wonderfulness of the soloist in the shakuhachi cadenza that invites you to the loose part and the cadenza of the koto that invites you to the steep part, and the delicacy of the ensemble at the end that is uplifting to the end. For me, this song was the 4th Japanese music work, but the more I touched the Japanese musical instruments, the more I realized the depth and I was fascinated by the unique atmosphere. I named this title because I wanted to invite everyone to the fascinating world of Japanese musical instruments.

First time to hear live Japanese traditional ensemble of shakuhachi, kato, and shamisen in Ritsurin Park when visiting Takamatsu of Shikoku in late November 2023. The concert organised by 朱雀会 started in the Park at 5:30pm with this IZANAI as the first repertoire yet I missed this to have arrived late. So I need to listen to it afterwards on You Tube. The song is lively yet contemplative that corresponds to the autumn in Takamatsu. The ending tempo is uplifting and energetic, giving hopes to a forthcoming winter.
Hope I could hear more of your works, in particular featuring shakuhachi and shamisen, to be played on stage in future.
