@@esme4048 Jimin was 18 and repeatedly told in public broadcasts that he was the least attractive, short of being called ugly in the group when everyone knew it was not true. As for Jimin also in broadcast radio he said he does not know how to relieve his stress that's why he had that issue with his dieting w/c amounts to literal starvation and JK at 16 was lucky enough not to know when he is stressed at all. I like JK but whenever I see this old clips I just can't help but wish Jimin had had a better experience starting out so that he won't get unnecessary anxiety attacks.
That ranking shit was really bad, my poor Jimin, I felt so sad for him, at that time he was really insecure about his appearance and didn't love himself, (he clearly said it). He put so much efforts for fans and he is do devoted to his passion. But here they are, always something to broke down his hard work and his confidence.
I'm glad now that the members are aware of this and stopped those stupid games and are taking care of him, and the most important, Jimin learn to love himself the way he is ♡ Jimin is much more than just "abs" and visual, he has a wonderful personality and he's a charismatic guy, a talented and gentle one, such a sweet and kind soul, I don't have words to describe my love and support for him really, Jimin is everything, Jimin is an angel. Okay so you didn't assume, I apologize. But as far as watching them online, if you watched rookie king ep. 4 Jimin talks about how he hates Jungkook calling him short and stroking his head ect. He also didn't like how the managers treated him like a child even though he and suga are 1cm apart ect..and then there was another video where they were ranking looks (again) and Jimin became irritated. Everyone then laughed and said they were just kidding and that he was handsome ect. So gathering that information just from the internet we can conclude that, yes, he gets very irritated when the members pick on him. Of course he knows that they're joking but it's still irritating to hear the same jokes over and over again.

@@Nicole-jf9ct I am actually glad that there are at least small amount of fans like us who can see beyond the fairy tale their company feeds us. We can see the reality behind some famous ships. But I'm really glad coz Jimin has become very strong mentally to stand up to it. Needless to say he was given very few lines and screen time in the early days, it's only when the company realised that Jimin is noticed for his uniqueness they started paying attention to him. I think Jimin always want to us to see him for the unique and enormously talented person he is. He clearly said in the same interview that he doesn't consider performing and singing for fans as work but the other things he does Infront of a camara are. That interview actually was a eye opener. I find it sweet how Rapmon tries to very subtly defend Jimin like how he asks Jungkook "how many times are you going to do the ranking" and "I was trying to help Jimin get no.1". On the other hand Jimin might've actually been upset and had to talk to the boys about it.. ;; Honestly he's one of the best looking ones in Bangtan (and they're all look incredible whew) and Jungkook is closest to Jimin, they're comfortable joking around-- I think that's why Jungkook keeps teasing him. Sometimes I do think that all these teasing shouldn't go too far though, hopefully they know where each other's limits are and keep that in mind.
I definitely feel that Hopie was keeping an eye on Suga this entire interview to make sure he was okay. I know he is know for always joking around but you can kinda see that he stepped up to fill the "Father" role that Suga usually plays.

When Jimin was teased my heart broked into pieces. He is one of my bias and he is also a bias wrecker. If they will tease Jimin make sure that Jimin won't be hurt or the tease must be a friendly one. I can see on his face that he is really sad or kindda pissed because of the rankings. This led him to believe he's actually unattractive. It's just the way of bullies. At least now they have stopped and Jimin no longer affected by them either.

Even though he was added last he was a triple threat, he had a dance background, taekwondo, could execute difficult flips, had a muscular figure, his visuals was already out of this world and he has an amazing personality that just draws you in. V clearly states that Jimin gets hurt easily, JK and V used this to their advantage to hurt him. ( has everyone forgotten that JK used to bullying Jimin after debut?) Some people like to hurt the ones they are jealous of to make themselves feel better. This is why I have always questioned if there was/is a “friendship” between these three. Even now they still may try to embarrass him, it no longer works and it makes then look even smaller each time. When you continuously tell someone that they are something then they are really going to think that they are that, so I don't care if you tell me they're just teasing him. And with a person as insecure and timid like Jimin it really doesn't help. I've had bad experiences on how people judge me by my appearances and I started thinking I'm what they told me. I thought that I was not pretty and I hated being short. It's one of the factor leading to my mental issues. After having been diagnosed I started thinking that I am pretty and my height don't really matter to me now. I can understand Jimin and he doesn't look very happy when Jungkook mention ranking on appearances.
thankfully the members aren't doing this anymore and in more recent videos on V app member praise him in some way or another, whether it's his looks or personality. i'm just glad this trend of rating members is in the past :)

I'm used to their teasing and fun poking too so it took a second watching of the video to truly see what all the hype was about. After rewatching it and reading this post on tumblr[ breathing-markson.tumblr.com/post/103112995350/i-wasnt-going-to-post-this-because-this-drama-is ]it made me think a little deeper on the situation. Beauty is a huge thing in Korea, HUGE. People get plastic surgery all the time for the littlest comments, starve themselves just because of a little fat in their cheeks, so you have to realize that negative comments about such things hold a lot more weight than they do here in US (even here it hurts). As the one whose teased most of the time in my group of friends like Jimin, you don't want to tell them they're wrong because they won't understand how it hurts you, then after a while it gets annoying to hear because you start to believe it. You may know their joking, but if you battle with that same insecurity as Jimin does, it doesn't help hearing that you have this wrong with you. If you watch the first time they did this and how insulted he was then compared to now you can very obviously see the difference. He walked away and tried get out of the "game" multiple times because he knew how it was going to end.
You nor I can say whether he was truly hurt or not, but as a person who understands I don't want to completely toss aside the possibility.

I do agree that they all have their own insecurities, but I wouldn't go so far as to label the whole lot of BTS as insecure people simply because they happen to have a few things they don't feel as good about. for one, it takes a pretty darn high level of self-esteem to have the guts to even get a foot in the door of the entertainment industry in the first place. I do believe they're secure insofar as their specialisations and their relationship with each other are concerned; they wouldn't be able tease each other to this level if they were truly as insecure as the author seems to think they are. jungkook's teasing did go a little overboard in here and jimin probably does feel a little hurt, but I believe that, ultimately, they like each other enough to know what to do when someone oversteps their boundaries.
and about the looks thing, yes it is a pretty big deal in korea, but I would say it's actually pretty difficult to really emotionally injure anyone by teasing them about their looks in that culture. Korea (and a lot of other Asian countries like Japan, Taiwan, and to a lesser extent, Singapore, too, in fact) is very open about their obsession over appearances, and that kind of sensitizes people to jabs about their appearances. korean entertainers, especially, would have to be even more sensitized to it, given how ugliness is almost always made the butt of jokes in their variety and gag programmes. I'm not saying that it doesn't hurt just because they're used to it, but I don't think the degree of hurt some people on this comment section are projecting onto them reflects quite how they feel either. here we are, people living at least a sea or two away from them, trying to assume things about them from behind a computer screen; what the fuck is that supposed to do?

If you say ''It's not a big deal'' you're completely throwing Jimin's feelings out the window, despite of knowing how he truly feels, friend or not, It's a joke that's been done a lot that even Jimin Is not laughing anymore, you can see It In his face, and people don't think he thinks about that?, he's always talking about wanting to diet, how he's not going to eat and wanting to be more 'cool', do people really think those words have no effect?, sure he forgives or waves It off but It doesn't mean he doesn't think about It.
