I hope Newsy holds players accountable for lack of effort and intensity during the season from Game 1. No fucks should be given about anyone's feelings whether it's a star or a depth guy if players are conspicuously showing shitty effort

He won't. They need a new coach but it won't happen unless they tank in Oct Nov. He should have been fired last year.

Kane didn't no show, he was great tonight even at half-speed w a prospect center. The top line however is extremely arrogant and obviously feels these games are far beneath them. They have not tried for even one shift this preseason.

There was no urgency or intensity. Yes it was preseason but no excuse to lose to mostly AHL level players.

it looks too much like last year's style of hockey, creating offense shouldn't be so hard and the other team shouldn't be able to win by only having 3 or 4 real good scoring chances through the whole game
Kane and Tarasenko doesn't really excite me tbh

I've never seen a supposedly dynamic top line put up 3 straight performances like that vs nobodies in preseason. It is really unusual. Goals are 4-0 against that line, high danger chances are 12-2 against. xGF is like 1.40 to .67 against. They have not shown anything at all in now 30 minutes of ice time. Like not even one minute of good play.

Lalonde needs to coach. That's what he was hired to do. If he does a repeat of last year as a coach, Stevie Y will need to grow a spine and fire him, if necessary. If the coaching were better last year, the Wings would have made the playoffs. I think a John Tortorella style of coaching would have gotten the Wings in the playoffs last year. Let's see what happens this season, especially if the Wings get on a horrific losing streak. Stevie Y didn't fire Lalonde when he probably should have last year after multiple losing streaks. Let's see what Stevie Y does this year with Lalonde, if Lalonde doesn't take responsibility on the loses.

Kane tonight had 28-6 Corsi, 1.31 - 0.29 xGF/xGA; and was great at 5v5, wasn't just on the power play. If Lalonde had a spine he would be trying Larkin w Kane/Tarasenko or just switching Kane and Raymond. Kane is the most gifted offensive forward on the team.

Are you really stating all situation stats, that include PP and PK numbers? Of course his numbers will look better than the other forwards who play PK. 5v5 Kane was .53xGF - .26xGA. Ras had better numbers, .65xGF to .14 xGA.

@@jennifermorris9985 Do not bother to reply to me if you are going to deliberately lie about what I said and misrepresent what I said. No, I also specifically mentioned that Kane was great 5v5, as he was. 13-5 corsi, 0.53 xgf to 0.26 xga.
Kane also set up the 2 or 3 best chances of the game, all at 5v5. His corsi at 5v5 entering the third period was something like 11-2.
He is the best forward on the team. Ras's line also had a very good night. Kane however is a nuclear weapon of a player who should be playing w the team's best center. It's a shame it will take the team struggling to get the lines correct.
I will not speak to you further on here or ever again. I don't appreciate garbage like misrepresenting what I said, basically lying about it and hoping your lie would be noticed more than my initial comment where I specifically also mentioned 5v5.
