I'm 68 saw The Who in the mid 70's. They stopped breaking instruments a tour before. During my show Keith started pounding and kicking, drums flying, Pete broke the crap out of a Les Paul, even hurt his hand. I had binoculars. Fantastic night 🤠
I remember 16 years ago, walking into my back room/home studio and my then 14yo daughter was playing this song on vinyl through my monitors. She looked up and smiled when I said “who’s next, my favourite album” and said “Dad I think this may the best opening track on any album, EVER!” I knew right then the future was in good hands…
Who’s watching this daily like me........born in 72 Britain....lucky enough to be introduced to life changing music “operas” from the best of Britain band from an early age.......” WHO ARE YOU”!
I saw them 3 weeks ago in Hove, West Sussex they were brilliant. I’m 77 now and I first saw them live in 1964 at the London college of printing aged 18, their still the best live rock and roll band on the planet.
ONE OF THE GREATEST ROCK AND ROLL TUNE'S EVER WRITTEN BY ONE OF BRITTEN'S GREATEST WRITERS AND PLAYED BY ONE OF THE GREATEST ROCK AND ROLL BAND,S TO HAVE WALKED THIS PLANET. PEACE BE WITH YOU MY FRIEND'S. 🙏✌️😎🏴
I was blessed to see them in Chicago in 78 for the first of many times. 88 or 89, I saw them two days in a row up at Alpine Vally in Wisconsin. Saturday night we had lawn seats. What a party that was. Sunday night we had perfect pavilion seats. We could see the stage clearly as well as the large screen. That night we were there for the show. What an epic show it was. Start to finish, it lasted almost 5 hours of the best music they ever created. What a dedicated group of performers, they gave all at every show I attended.
@mamille1963 Haha. I was told I couldn't go either, for the same reason. No way was I missing that concert. My older brother and his friends had my back. They waited for me to sneak out.
THEY WERE THE BEST ROCK BAND BY MILES NOBODY CAN COMPARE WITH THEM SUPREME, MAGICAL ABSOLUTEDLY BRILLIANT ALL FOUR OF THEM FANTASTIC MUSICIANS AND SHOWMEN WE WILL NEVER SEE THEIR LIKE AGAIN WHAT POWER AND PERFORMANCE AND VITALITY SUPERB THE WHO.
Just was in London and as luck would have it they were playing at the O2. Had to go and glad I did! They were great. It was about 40 years in between Who concerts for me!

I could have been conceived in the parking lot of a who concert. Maybe that would explain a few things . One of the best bands ever. Always found it interesting that kieth is the only one that has anything over his ears.
I loved this song when it came out. The keyboards at the beginning, and the violin at the end are great. Then I asked myself, which member of the Who plays keyboards or violin?
@@DRMET My cousin lived in Newton on Grove St. She went to the Conservatory of Music in Boston and learned classical piano. I was taking lessons for a while and bought a Roland SH-1000 synthesizer. She told me during one lesson that whoever wrote the music in Quadraphenia with the Arp sounding like violins in the song Love Rein Oer Me that they must have had classical training. Pete was a genius no doubt.
Good grief, these make music today look like diluted orange juice. This isn't contrived, manafactured, its as pure as it gets, in every way, Thank god for youtube.
The Who had my full attention until Keith Moon went out. John Entwhistle and Moon were TiGHT yet were able to be completely individualized ! Pete is surely tuned-up here!!!
Not enough glitzy costumes, ridiculous dancers, computer altered voices, too many people playing actual instruments, no records being scratched and on and on.
So, the moment that snake was subdued she seased being from a law Enforcement perspective a princess on her birthday & I seated being a little boy, to a boy that could stand by himself as did she, from a law Enforcement perspective which creates a data conflict
Bro I’m a 55 year old Black Man it’s 2023 and I’ve been playing THE WHO everyday for the last 6 months…this can’t be normal
Perfectly 😁

The Who at the absolute peak of their powers. A great British band from a golden age of British bands.

Pete Townsend. What a legend. The man who made The Who.
Shame he's a nonce
Yeh but man did he eff up his reputation with that child porn stuff. He got off but I am doubtful of his innocence.
Don't rush to judge people harshly."in his life a man plays many parts". Shakespeare.
One of the greatest bands ever

We were so young and good looking back then. It literally feels like yesterday 😢
La migliore performance della storia del rock. Oggi nessuno può rifare questo

International Ampitheatre. Was there too. Right after trampling deaths in Ohio. My parents weren’t going to let me go and I went nuts.

I saw them at the Spectrum in Philly the following year (Quadraphrenia tour)...absolutely amazing energy (from the band as well as the contact high).
I lovw Pete! These guys are the best ever.
I don't how he did it. But Ox created a symphony with his bass playing. And of course, Pete is a genius.
yeah, people forget about John but if you removed him the sound would be lacking

Exelente es uno de los grandes conjuntos
One of the greatest rock songs maybe number 2 under stairway. A monster
Back when western civilisation was great.
Back before it was drowned in a sea of self hate and loathing for being successful.
70's the best music of all time.
Rock on

Moons last performance for the movie, Kids are alright. The last real Who. Loved them. RIP
