Its so great to see our own country. Great scenery, wildlife, tea garden, peaceful journey, grand trees specially the eucalyptus etc. Not much traffic, good roads. I just hope the indian govt bans the use of aluminium utensils at all tourist locations.
For your mom, you can order raita or plain yellow dal to eat with rice. In the raita, ask them to not put chilli/chilli powder. Instead, ask for chilli powder separately for her to add as she needs or she can add the pepper that is on the table. You can also order idli or plain/masala dosa. Ask them to give the masala (i.e. potato mixture) separately for her to eat with the rice or roti. Curd Rice if she can have then great. Unfortunately, chicken/meat dishes are on the spicy side in India. Afghani kebab might suit her palette. But depends on how it has been prepared. I felt a bit sad that she found the food spicy despite it being made in malai. Well not all places can really pipe down the spices despite the malai. Hence, the suggestions above.
It was sad to see your mum could not eat anything...Maybe if you order malai kababs / non-spicey chicken, fish or paneer kababs with something sweet like pineapple raita or any other form of raita, that may suit your mum...
