I can beat them. Just tape a sign on the outside of the door with the text: "Please stay out". That should out thieves just as effective as some of the locks out there.

I install them daily on production homes. 500k plus homes, Lennar builders here put them on every single house they build basically here. The bolt is also a flimsy and hollow straw and contains the battery. You can just pull/push really hard on the door and fold the bolt over. I don't think pick resistance even matters on this lock.
And lack of brain? The locks with keys are made for case when you are not in home. For situation that you want to lock the door from inside then you do not need the key... just any mechanism that you can open only from inside.
