Mark felton has covered it beautifully in his channel. But loved it from an operator who operated in that place.

A full grown male tiger gets larger than the biggest lion male, about 10-30% larger . And when they ge old an loose their fangs and claws, maneaters turns up then, not nessecearly due to many corpses around, but also because people are easy prey for a Tiger, and thats why the term " Problem Animal Control Officer" is used today also .

Well they were also living in a war zone, natural prey for Tigers was going down, as well as injuries like you said, to Tigers going up making them incapable of hunting natural prey . It's likely they fed on plenty of human corpses though, we have plenty of records of dogs eating dead or dying men in no mans land in WWI, a tiger would be no different.

The Tigers age like that wherever they are and situations can erupt an turn quikly.
Read Jim Corbett , he wrote exellent on that .
Not only in warzones, attacks like that goes on in ordinary situations also. A man or a woman can be fetching wood or water, tiger comes and grip her by the throat and carries them off like a cat would do with a mouse.
Some of the worst i read was from the war between West and East Pakistan ,now Pakistan and Banghladesh. Pakistani soldiers would rape and mutilate Banghladeshi girls and women, tie them alive to a tree and wait for the Tiger to show up and finish the job .

Tigers have about 200lbs of muscle more than a lion despite being comparable in size. Meaning their muscle is denser and stronger.

Regarding the rats as big as small cats, my dad was in the Korean War. He said they had rats as big as cats there. Thank God they're not that big here.

    Funny ending.👍👍
Hey I'd like to comment on how cool these short clips are & I'd like to give a major comment on how fantastic, top notch & outstanding this podcast is & how well it has evolved since I first watched it about 4 yrs ago with former SEAL's - B. Webb & Mike Ritland & Drago, that is, if it's the same podcast. I follow several former military guy's podcasts & this one is definitely at the top of my list.
Keep 'em coming fellas. Thank you.

That is horrifying. Finding the man you were sleeping next to the night before, half eaten, an animal still devouring him. Tigers are one of the worlds Apex predators for sure. I had never thought about the soldiers and marines having to deal with them too.

Tiger's, poisonous snakes, sun bears etc. They definitely had to worry about animals and the soldiers. Scary place

Great story, any chance of an interview with Richard Marcinko? I've read most of his books but I think his interview would be amazing
