I love USA, but the fact that women are considered “old” after 30 is just ridiculous. It’s deeply embedded in American culture. You go to Europe, and at that age people are just starting to live.

Stephanie, life is just beginning at our age (I am 39). You are not too old to be who you want to be. I find that I've spent my 30s really deprogramming from society's brainwashing and really learning my value and honoring my dreams and potential. Trust me, I relate to you in so many ways- but please do not write yourself off so soon. If anything, you're in a better spot to make the most of your life with the healing and knowledge you've gained to this point. It’s strange how this was how life felt like for me in my early 20s. It seemed like everyone was vacationing, progressing, having kids, buying homes, getting married, and becoming successful so early in life and I was so stagnant. I remember when one of my classmates got signed to the nfl, I was so hurt because I felt like a complete loser. I was in college getting my degree in Accounting doing odd modeling gigs and still felt like a whole loser. I just wanted to become a R&B singer but, I never had the support. Two years ago I finally auditioned to be a singer. But, I wasn’t prepared and unfortunately didn’t get selected. But the fact that I at least attempted made me feel so much better about life. Having to take care of others regularly and make decisions for more than yourself. When you wake up and the only person that matters is you or you still relying on your parents in a childish way like living at home beyond 21....yeah society doesn't see that as a actual woman but of of an almost eternal extension of teenage hood....other countries around the world have rights of passage into adulthood and usually if you don't have a kid in society the value for the woman falls. As a person who’s been on Broadway but didn’t have connections and had parents who allowed me to work in the arts as a teenager BUT did not do the “super parent Britney Spears Michael Jackson Beyoncé” push- I am a witness to the opportunities that happen when people come out of the big schools and conservatories or have a fancy manager at a young age. There is so much sacrifice and so much that people don’t understand about how the entertainment industry works. Loving your page

I am also isolated so that does not help. I feel like I just turned 30 , we just had 4th of July. I am supposed to be married and on baby number three next year smh 🤦🏾‍♀️

Or you may find the right one but wil be so focused on having kids it wil scare him away. fix yourself up first especially your mind so you wil see clearer and wil find the right one you can build with believe there is someone checking you out but you might not see it just because you’re to focused on it.

This is one of the realest talks regarding age and societal expectations. I've felt like this all throughout my 20s for various reasons as well, especially because the window of opportunity has opened to an even younger demographic, thanks to technology. Hell, seeing kids getting famous and making money makes those of us in our 20s and 30s wonder about the what-ifs. Not a good feeling at all.

Love this video. I'm 29 and have been really struggling with that Facebook FOMO for the last...geez, 7 years? (People start families early where I'm from.) Then I remember I almost got married and went that direction and chose not to for a reason. That wasn't the life I wanted when I hadn't even had my own life yet. And tbh it's still not. I may feel fomo, but there's not one person on my timeline I'd actually trade with. They're all married to walking mayonnaise sandwiches (sorry but it's the truth) with good but stressful jobs and cute but demanding kids. I know it sounds like sour grapes but I easily could have this life if I wanted it... I just... don't, deep in my heart. On the surface it looks like I've accomplished very little and it's true, but I'M FREE. And it would take a lot more than "this is what we're supposed to do right?" for me to give that up.

What I'm doing now will affect the things that happen to me later in life and I know I wouldn't stand the dissatisfaction of not having done anything major. Hey there, I have a little story for ya.
I was a “gifted kid” like I even had to change schools to continue my education at 8 years old. I went to traditional middle and high school to get the “experience” and I was 100% caught in the “gifted kid, wasted experience” cycle. I was so lost. And of course depressed.
Fast forward a few years (I’m 23) and I finally got back in touch with my inner self and I’m on the road to achieving my dreams.
Never stop learning. Follow what you want to do ALWAYS!!! Go after your dreams like your life depends on it. Start now and never look back. You got this. Love from a stranger ✨🖤

Did all the stuff I was supposed to do and made all the grades I was supposed to make and I’m gonna say I’m no better off than anybody else I went to school with and just leave it at that. Good things can happen, but that “gifted” thing stops mattering after school basically.

Huni, just be proud of still surviving being free and making good choices so far🥳🎉
I still shop Forever 21 wear my crop tops, and whatever else is supposedly wrong after a certain age👄
    Why
Because I can, I look damn good and I survived to do so
Never compare yourself to another 🤪
    Only one of you🤗

I am so glad I follow your channel you are so relatable. Social media is just so annoying everyone always post picture perfect pics of their kids, weddings, and accomplishments. They just seems to have it all figured out doing so well and good for them. But I can’t relate I have kids and they are wonderful but it’s chaotic my house isn’t alway neat. Laundry is never ending. I have a average job. I am not married and every moment in my life isn’t sunshine roses. But I am here winging it doing the best I can.

When I hit 30 I realize that it was highly unlikely that Beyonce and I were getting married😟

I appreciate your honesty. If u were jealous, you were jealous. It is what it is and you were not afraid to say it without apology.

You are speaking the truth! Thank you so much for this!! I’ve been feeling this way for so long in silos, but I’m glad to know I’m not the only one out here.
