    You gave a valuable advice saying that drone filming is best done at times when not many people are at the spot. We have to be aware that a drone is a technical device that can fail at any time. Hence minimize the chance of harming anyone by avoiding people on the ground.

    Hey Ian, thanks for yet another enjoyable and informative video. Some super footage combined with imaginative (and skilful) editing too. Do you have any further footage from your trip to Malta? Would love to see more from that magical place. I was fortunate enough to take delivery of my mini 3 Pro prior to my trip to Cancun, Mexico at the beginning of June. I had planned to take my mini 2 but couldn’t resist taking the mini 3…and I was so glad I did. I just need to get up to speed on my video editing skills now! Really looking forward to our cruise to the Norwegian fjords next month when I hope to take some epic footage…time will tell. Cheers, Andy (in Portsmouth).

Most of the YT vids lately on the usual channels just bitch about updates and this and that's not working. Just negativity. I've had no issues, and I'm with you, my Air 2S doesn't get as much flight time now, and the only reason it does is because I shelled out for the RC pro🤣.... Mini 3...awesome little flyer! You’re quite right that these aren’t the easiest of maneuvers, but I’ve managed to get them right on a few occasions. On the other hand, I guess my take away from it all was that these are rather perishable skills and practice really helps. Sometimes doing the touch-hold-drag on the screen with the Air2/AIR2S gives me the smooth gimbal movements that I might not otherwise have. I presume that the Mini3 still allows this doesn’t it?

    Ian good as always lovely moves, it's funny you doing these moves, I was out yesterday, and this morning doing these, your right this Mini 3 Pro is an amazing little drone I cannot believe how quite this really is 20ft up you can't even hear it, I never thought I would never buy a small drone like this it's worth the money in what this little drone can do😀 The RC controller is a great package, my only downside is with the signal break up 750 feet I'm hoping with a firmware update might solve this and it's not a hardware issue?

    Hi there from Japan. These shots were very easy to understand. Thank you.
    You mentioned about the hot weather and I hope you're staying cool. Just a question, have you thought about testing the Mini 3 in this hot weather? I was just flying my Mavic 3, and unlike the Mavic 2 the fans were still running after I had landed it. We have very hot and humid weather here during the summer, and flying in over 30 degree weather is quite normal here, so hot weather flying is always on my mind or a worry. I'm just wondering how the Mini 3 is handling the heat over there if you had the chance to fly it during your heatwave.

    • @IaninLondon
      @IaninLondon  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! I thought about flying in the 39'c heat, but genuinely couldn't take myself away from the fan.... As long as the drone is flying and moving, it should be fine. Stationary or resting on the ground with the props on is when it will overheat....

    • @jylogura
      @jylogura 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@IaninLondon Hello Ian and thanks for the prompt reply! I completely understand your dilemma. With little to no a/c, I'm sure everyone in Britain felt like that!
      I heard somewhere that the Mini 3, though it is a beast of a little drone, did overheat in "normal" temps when stationary on the ground. But, I guess that's testament to what it has inside and what it can do. I'm sure however, 40 plus temps, even when moving, might effect its performance but I think any high-performance electronic product will suffer as with everything else.
      Best,
      From Japan

    Great tips. I wouldn’t call them “simple moves” though, albeit doable after practice.
    I took my mini-3 with me when visiting Bushmills last week. Easy to pack, easy to use, less noisy than the Air 2S, so less disturbing.
    As the wind was blowing quite hard, the Mini 3 had a hard time, but performed quite well. ND filters are needed imo, >1 extra battery too.
    However, I’m still keeping my Air 2S for stability, and slightly better image quality (video and pic). Today I was flying the Air 2S again and enjoyed that one too.
    But, it is Loud….
    They’re as equal as they are different.

    • @IaninLondon

      Yep; good summary....

    • @BlairAir
      @BlairAir 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are ALL loud, after flying Mini 3. Mavic 3, even with Master Airscrew Stealth Props sounds obnoxious in comparison, lol. The l8ght color of Mini 3 Pro, plus low sound levels make it THE drone when you want to keep a low profile.

  • @IanPerry

    @TheRchy 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks Ian. Is the wind resistance same for Mini2 and Mini3?

    • @BlairAir
      @BlairAir 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are both rated "level 5" -that said, they M3pro has 50% larger props, and most will agree it does somewhat better. These are small, and light. Not exactly wind friendly, but with some reasonable flying, the gimbal on the newer drone seems more able to negate high winds in your footage. The key with sub 250 g drones is to not film close to your subject when the drone is fighting choppy wind.

      You have a difficult combination. In my opinion, barring an Air 3 being released soon, I would actually go for an Air2S as you already have the Mini 2 for the freedom the sub 250gm gives you, but the Air 2S is a superior drone in many ways, not least of all, the larger 20Mp sensor......

      @@arnoldsnodgrass2953 Nope that was the Autel Nano... The mini 3 Pro is incredible I have had several flights with mine. Here is an example th-cam.com/video/UbECg1NbN44/w-d-xo.html

      No, I have never hated it; I was questioning the gimbal design with how it protrudes beyond the main body, but that was my only criticism. I really love this drone....

      @@IaninLondon Loads of comments on this one of yours saying how bad the signal was th-cam.com/video/S4mWDZRrHrU/w-d-xo.html and you had problems with it seizing up video mid-flight

      I have over 10 drones...... Which one gathers the most dust? FPV and the Mavic 3 I guess, due to their size, noise and the fact I have others that are smaller but good enough for what I want to do.... :)
