To this day 117 from the Halo 4 soundtrack has been my favorite piece of music to come out of the Halo franchise. Unpopular opinion but it was fresh and original and I think captured the spirit of John better than anything else. I would love it if you revisited this piece now 8 years later to see what you'd come up with, you've grown immensely as a pianist since this video.

Im just this moment appreciating the likeness in how you closed this song with one of the motifs in Halo ODST, I believe the intervals between the notes are identical and, intentionally or not, instead of finishing the song on plain chords as the song does, you've thoughtfully ended it with a Halo motif from a totally separate game. This cover will never not blow my mind, and I love that Im still finding new reasons to appreciate it. You are a god amongst men. I dream to someday be able to play this piece.

Bungie fanboys hate anything halo 4 and halo 5. Don’t get me wrong halo 5 was a god awful poorly written mess, and halos 4s gameplay was pretty bad. But some of the music in 4 and 5 were amazing. Including this one. And halo 4s story was pretty good. It’s just the gameplay that lacked.
Halo 4 was all around fun in my opinion, Halo 5's story was written by kindergardeners on crack, Halo Reach had one the best campaigns, but in my opinion, the worst gameplay in the series.
I love both their work for different reasons. I like Marty as it has a bigger emphasis on action and pride as well as a classic veterancy to it, but I like Neil for the emotional depth that is conveyed through his works.
Would've liked it, but didn't even hear a thing even at max volume and it unmuted. And I am in a very quiet room EDIT: TH-cam's fault, backspaces a bit and then I could hear it. Sounds great!
very nice job. I know is an old video but still, my first time seeing so it is new to me. I think this is just a brilliantly inspired song, very much in the same category as something Hans Zimmer would do. Very theatrical and dramatic, as good a rendition as this is, nothing can replace the orchestral sounds of the original.

I like the left hand at 1:35 for that part. It gives off a good copy of the crescendo of the real song on that part. Was there any specific way you did it or you just played around With it?

oh haha same thing would probably happen to me mainly because i am left handed lol and for some reason, when i'm not playing pieces or playing scales or anything and i need to hit octave chords i tend to not use the ring finger and use my middle finger instead, it looks really wierd from a top view, but it somehow is comfortable for me idk how lol
