    I walked away for the weekend because I knew that throwing the machine to the floor and screaming like a toddler wouldn't fix it. THANK YOU! I've had this machine for TWELVE YEARS and never thought about the order I placed on it back together. My luck ran out and your video set me straight!

    THANK YOU!!!!!! My BabyLock Symphony has had this problem, and I've taken it in for repair at least 3 times. When I found this video, I was able to fix it myself. I really appreciate you sharing your know how with us. It saved me from a major melt down.

    Hurray!!!! This worked! And, now it sews even better than it did before! I wish I had found this video before I spent an hour trying to figure this out on my own. I was almost ready to give up and pack my machine up to take to the shop when I found this video. Thank you so much!!!!

    THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH! My machine kept jamming last night and I spent hours (until 3:10am) then again from 9:45am to just a few minutes ago (2:00pm). At first I thought GREAT this is the fix, then I thought oh no this isn't it but I watched all the way through. I listened to your strongly stressed tip of putting the plate on before putting the bobbin case back in (which I had not been doing). I was thinking that this wasn't going to do anything and I was going to need to take my machine in for a costly repair. I needed to put it back together again anyway so I did as you instructed thinking, what have I got to loose. Well, IT WORKED! I can't thank you enough! Such a simple but important step. I am thrilled. YOU ARE THE MAN! Thanks

    The was great---was ready to take the machine to the repair shop because I couldn't get it right. This is the only video that showed exactly how to do do. Thank you

    Your instructions were perfect!! Your comments should be included in the "troubleshooting" section on the manual. It worked just as you said!

    Sir, I needed to just say THANK YOU. I could not figure out what was wrong with my poor Baby Lock and I was almost in tears. I had an appointment to take her in tomorrow to see the dealer where she was purchased from. I had been putting the bobbin case in FIRST and that was the problem! You are my lifesaver. She still should go in for a check up but something like this every owner should know. Thank you so much!

    Thank you so much for so clearly explaining this. I shared the same frustrations as everyone else. This is exactly what I was looking for. I have a Babylock Ellure and it isn't as easy to remove and replace the front bobbin cover, but now I see how important each step is.

    Thank you Brad! The specific order of putting the back plate first then inserting the bobbin holder fixed the issue I was experimenting. You save the day!

    I have that same machine and had that problem too. Too frustrating for me. I couldn't sew thin or thick material through it without it jamming so I haven't used the machine in 15 years. I'm going to start using it again soon since it cost $1000 at the time and has a lot of features. It just amazes me how men know more about sewing machines than women and are easier to understand on how to fix them and use them.

    Hi Brad,
    Do you have a video showing how to adjust the tension and bobbin for a thicker thread. I'm using a thicker Gutterman thread and cannot get a consistent even stitch going. I'm using the thread on a Sunbrella fabric for an directors chair.I have the same babylock model as in your video. I'm starting to go a little crazy! :0 thank you! U
    Christine

    OMG!!! Why doesn't the manual say to put the throatplate back on first before the bobbin case??? I spent about 2 hours today and took the plate and bobbin case in an out numerous times before I decided to check out youtube. THANK YOU !!!

    Hi Brad, Great video for bird's nest lock ups. I have experienced a "Safety Motor stop" on my Babylock Ellageo BLL Home Sewing/embroidery machine while doing embroidery. The Safety lock stopped the needle in the down position, requiring me to disassemble the needle holder and thread guide as well as the embroidery foot from the needle shaft just to remove the embroidery hoop! The needle was intact, nothing bent. I removed the covers to search for any thread jam or wrapping and found nothing. There was no bird's nest present, no excessive amounts of lint in the race or under the plates. I cannot move the hand wheel. Is there anything else I can check before taking the plunge and taking the machine in for "official repair"? IS there a reset button on this safety lock out? My manual does not offer any insight other than an image of the motor safety lock error message.
    Thanks in advance for any help!

    Received an "F01" Error Code on my Decorator's Choice Baby Lock. Have
    checked & triple checked for any thread issues in the needle and
    bobbin areas (underneath needle plate too) including the upper threading
    portions...nothing obstructing whatsoever. Contacted Baby Lock
    "Support" and of course they were no help. Any help you can send my way
    would be greatly appreciate

      f01 usually is a board or motor error on one of those, going to have to take it to a dealer

    Great video. But I would love to know why it matters when the bobbin case goes in?

    • @EllicottCitySewVac
      @EllicottCitySewVac  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      there's a guide under the needle plate that will end up on top of the bobbin case instead of in front of it if you put the bobbin case in first. doesn't happen EVERY time, especially if you know what you're doing. does happen most of the time though. If the guide is on top of the case, it keeps it from being able to move at all, which causes a jam.

    Brad, this is a great video. I hope you can help with my issue. I have a Baby Lock Decorator's Choice and my motor seized up! The error message reads: Safety device has been activated - because of a thread jam. I cleared everything by disassembling the bobbin area - no thread jams, just some lint. I did find some threads around the joints of the needle bar mechanism - but it was so hard to get to. I removed everything I could see with Kelly clamps, tweezers, dental mirror, and a few choice words. I couldn't figure out how to get the face plate off to get better access. Do you have any advice? There isn't a Baby Lock tech within 100 miles of me, and social distancing precludes going out and about. Thanks for any advice you can offer.

    • @EllicottCitySewVac
      @EllicottCitySewVac  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      if you've got threads wrapped around the take up lever parts you'll really need a tech unfortunately

      @@EllicottCitySewVacthanks for a speedy reply, but I was afraid you were going to say that. I'm glad I have other machines: a Bernina 930, Singer Genie, and a Baby Lock Imagine serger. At least I won't be left high and dry during this pandemic because sewing and paper crafting keep me sane! Thanks again.

    • @tomn5880
      @tomn5880 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Angie: I had the worse trouble learning to do button holes. Make sure you use the button hole foot, pull the stop leaver down and that it is in the correct position and that you have selected a button hole icon on the stitch selector.
