I played an arrangement of this as a 3rd clarinet player, with my middle school concert band in the 1964-5 period. It's wonderful to finally hear a professional version of the piece.
I played this in my elementary school band in 1959 and now, almost six decades later, with my local municipal band. Hearing this again makes that ancient, faraway time seem like only yesterday. My list of ten all-time favorites includes Ballet Egyptien. Thank you for posting this gem.
After may be more than 20 years, this came back to my mind, like pressing the play button in a player... I had to think hard to get to remember the name... It was a favorite of my mother... I'm happy I found someone who not only had this excellent sound quality recording, but also took care of producing a synced score to it. Thanks Opermusikant ! Good memories, this a great, alas forgotten composition.
Many years ago, in the last century in fact, I played this piece in Junior Band. Being an adolescent, I didn’t much care for the music, because I considered it _square_ - But now that I’m a mature, sophisticated listener, I no longer consider it _square_ Instead, it’s _pyramidal_

This is one of my childhood favorites as well. We had an L.P. with this on side one and the suite from Massenet's "Le Cid" on side two.

You're welcome :-). If people are happy, then so am I

It's also been around.
Wilson, Kepple & Betty !
A favourite from my childhood, full of wonderful tunes and unjustly overlooked these days.
Forever linked with Wilson, Kepple & Betty. 🕺💃🕺
like cliff Huhes I remember this from my childhood, from a jumble sale I bought it on 6 78rpm shellac records, glorious sound!
Probably the best piece I have ever played in high school.
all'inizio della silly simphonie di walt disney del giugno 1930, "Artic Antics", un orsetto la canta e la danza in falsetto
bellísimo, gracias
simply beautiful and melody is so bright and major, nowadays it's all minor and monotonous....
Alas!
That's true
I found this piece in our bandroom library but never got to play it 😪😫
"Western Orientalism." Some protest it these days as racial stereotyping, but it is entertaining nonetheless.
